  1. ^^^ thanks - I have an appointment this week for a mechanic to check it out - over my head at this point - I figure I have a draw somewhere.
  2. I recently purchased by 2004 CTT and the battery ran down.... Fine, replaced the battery under the seat, still ran down. Replaced the 2nd battery in the trunk yesterday (at first I didn't even realize there was a 2nd battery) and STILL is running down! It's not running down to where I have to jump, but aux items are delayed on start and I have to turn the key a few times before it will kick over. So, either I have: 1. A bad altenator? 2. An excessive draw somewhere? any other ideas? Just trying to narrow it down before I give up and drive it to the Porsche garage over 1.5 hours away...
  3. Thank you for the suggestions. I had changed the battery a few days after I made this post and everything seemed fine for the most part. My wife has used this car as a daily driver but she only drives about 4 miles round trip. Occasionally the automatic locks won't work, and the HVAC system is delayed on start up like before. It isn't happeneing as frequently but it's still happening on days it's ran and turned on and off several times. I am guessing I have an excessive draw somewhere, but any last suggestions before I take it to a mechanic? I still need to purchase a trickle charger, but am I going to need to put in on a trickle everyday? Seems excessive.
  4. Hello All, Just finished putting on Slotted and Drilled Rotors, Ceramic Pads and new sensors on my 2004 Cayenne Turbo. I need to add brake fluid but wasn't sure which type to add. I know mixing synthetic with regular can sometimes make it gel. What's the manufacters recommendation (couldn't find it in the owners manual).
  5. Hello, I have recently purchased a 2004 CTT, I haven't driven it much (travelling for work) but I have an issue when I start it up that happens now and then... The HVAC system will not immediately come on, sometimes it will kick on a minute later, sometimes it will take up to 3 minutes. Sometimes it sounds like the vents under the dash are opening and closing right after the Cayenne is turned on before air runs thru the ducts. Is there some sort of relay switch going bad, or some sort of setting on the HVAC controls that needs changed? Thank you
  6. I have purchased an Pioneer App Radio 4 for my 04 Cayenne, but it's not installed yet. I am a little frustrated because I would prefer to have Sirius/XM via Satellite (not the app) and this unit does not do that. I am also considering if I should go the NAV-TV route or scrap it and add my own amps. I would be willing to forgo the App Radio if something plug and play would come close.
  7. Hello, I would be interested in hearing more about your stereo set up and how you like the App Radio (assuming it's the 4?). I have recently purchased a 2004 Turbo and have also purchased an App Radio 4. Not sure if I should go the NAV-TV route or something similar to what you did. I do have some questions: 1. Do you use the Siruis/XM app on your app radio? 2. Did you install the steering wheel control adapater, and if so how is that working with the app radio? Many Thanks!
  8. - wrinkledpants, Thanks for taking the time to reply to my questions. I know the stereo is going to be tricky, and an aftermarket amp is needed in some applications. I will post whatever I end up doing as it may help out others.
  9. Hello, I am new to the forum and had a few questions about a 2004 Cayenne Turbo that I am looking at. Unfortunately it is halfway accross the country so I cannot view it in person. I am aware of the mechanical issues that can pop up, where I need some help is with the options, things I couldn't solve with the photos I was provided. On this model, will this vehicle likely have: 1. Tire Pressure Monitoring System (was this an option or standard on 2004 Turbos?) 2. Sunroof/Moonroof (the one question I forgot to ask). I thought they were standard on USA Turbos, am I right? 3. How many power outlets are in the SUV and where are they located? (I know there should be 1 in the front, I think 1 in the 2nd row and 2 in the trunk?) Am I missing some? 4. Is the battery located in the engine bay? 5. I see on the drivers side door there is a trunk release next to the fuel door release. Does that "lift" the trunk or just "unlock" it. 6. I don't think I have ever seen a 2004 with a "auto liftgate" close button, am I correct? My last question is more of a technical question. 7. I am interested in removing the stereo and installing an aftermarket stereo (Pioneer Appradio 4 for more modern options (bluetooth, review camera, etc.) does the stereo just bascially do navigation and music or will any other information systems be lost? I know Turbos have the screen on the tach area but wasn't sure if the two worked with each other or seperate. thank you
