  1. OE, Have you considered Fabspeed? I am contemplating those for my 997, Just wondering if you know anything about them, or if you have heard them.
  2. Take a look at http://www.rennteam.com/showflat.php?Cat=0...=true#Post71817 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Stainless on my 05 997 non S
  3. No, one is enough, it's just that I thought it was odd. All of my others Porsches had stickers under the hood, and I read different stories about this, and just would like an explaination. I guess there is no standard on the 997.
  4. Am I the only one who does not have the sticker under the hood? I do have it in my book. My last 2 911's had the sticker under the hood, and not in the booklet. Anybody have any idea's?
  5. Chris, Gary, very nice. I opted for the Red on mine, I had Arctic on the last one. Let me know what you think of the Fabspeed exhaust and cold air kit. I am thinking of doing the same.
  6. I see you are from Chicago. If you want I can put you in touch with my guy in Springfield Illinois. I have no interest other than They are good to deal with, and he may be able to help you get one. email me if you want. jnx113@charter.net
  7. I just traded my 2004 996 for a 2005 997. At first I did not like the 997, But it grew on me. I will do my best to answer your questions, however this will be my impression. Yours may be different. 1] I like the steering better, it seems to have a lighter feel to it. 2] The brakes seem to be about the same, maybe a little better. 3] Seating position seems to be about the same, however the mirrors are smaller, and take a little getting used to. 4] I have the standard shifter, it has a shorter throw, feels better than my stock standard 996 shifter, and the clutch feels much smoother. 5] I have only had the car about 1 week, have not noticed any chips, but like the 993, I am sure it's there for a reason 6] The engine feels much more responsive, it feels like it has much more torque than the 996, although I don't think it does. To me it's a lot more fun to drive, you will notice the responsiveness in the first mile you drive the car. I am glad I traded for it, I like it very much. Good luck . 3
  8. I think they just slip over the existing valve stem, and are held in place when you screw on the cap. That is, if you have the proper length stem already installed on your wheel presently.
  9. Has anyone tried one of these either on a 996, or 997? I am looking for any feedback, on sound, performance gain etc. Thanks
  10. Good question, I can't find anything either. Do you have any Idea what the Fabspeed sounds like?
  11. Just unbelievable, I can't imagine spending more than $70,000 for a car, and then they have the gut's to charge you for a spare tire???????????????WTF I just can't fathom that. I hope Porsche gets what they are asking for, with this latest fiasco. Which in my opinion would be distancing them from their loyal customer base.
  12. OK, But will the actual spare wheel, from a 996 fit on a 997?
  13. Does anyone know if a spare tire from a 996 will fit the 997? Loren?
  14. Nice car, I am thinking about Speed Yellow, what color interior do you have?
  15. On my 2001 330Ci all you have to remove is one screw (half-turn) to release a small (maybe 6"x6") cover plate to get to the drain plug. Did they change that? My wife will possibly be getting a 2006 M3, just curious.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You may want to reconsider, This is the last year[05] for the M3. There will not be one made in 06, they are talking about possibly 07, or 08 with it being a M4 with a V8 engine.
  16. I found out it's not available on std 997, just the S
  17. Is sport exhaust now standard on the 997? is it the same as the 996, I mean does it still cut in and out? does the same procedure solve that issue?
  18. Can Nav be added afterwards on the 997? if so anyone know the cost? is it a diy project? Thanks
  19. Don, I agree about not taking any chances. Shouldn't the oil filter have trapped the metal in the oil?
  20. I had heard that some time ago, as well. I agree, there is not much truth to it.
  21. I know this has been answered before, but I searched, and couldn't find an answer. I am replacing my batwing, but I have nav. sys. so I can't just pull out the cd tray. I am wanting to know, how do the side panels come off? just pull? If I can get these off, I should be able to push out the batwing, correct? The car is an 04, 996 if that matters. Thanks.
  22. Not to mention the balance problems you would have.
