  1. Fwiw, this connector is still being used in the 2017 958 for the LIN bus connector under the center console mode buttons (pas, diff, sport+, etc).  Albeit with just 3 pins actually in the connector instead of the four it can hold, one spot is empty.

TE makes it, but the -1 variant is restricted to automakers.

Not sure but the -3 variant looks pretty much the same.

I generally try not to resurrect zombie posts from the dead, but search brought me here via the Mercedes number, and that gave me a jump on more search words.  Maybe the next guy will come along in another decade..

Basically http://www.obd2tool.com/goods-5052-Launch+X431+iCarScan+Bluetooth+Diagnostic+Scanner+for+Android.html - although I ordered mine over a year ago. I'm using the Android based software. I haven't heard from anyone trying to use the iPhone based software yet.  As far as the Porsche version - whatever was the latest download.

Got mine but it doesn't want to let me register it with the serial and verification code they sent me.

Also, given that you only need a Qt (850 ml actually), i'm just going to get into the habit of changing the TC fluid every year/motor oil change, given it's so easy and cheap, and given that i have yet to hear why changing it that frequently would be a bad idea

I'd also like to hear opinions as to why changing this fluid would be a bad idea.

Obviouslythere is a waste of money argument but what about the issues or the presense of friction modifiers and any impact those might have on the clutch discs inside the transfer case.  I can't think of a reason why changing engine oil or regular gear oil would be a problem but transfer case with fiction modifiers I know nothing about.

I would hate to cause different problems by being proactive about transfer case fluid changes.
