  1. The paperwork said replaced oil guide hosing. Going to keep an eye on it and make sure the bell housing cover isn't warped like some of u guys dealt with.
  2. We got ours back from dealership(2.5 weeks)with about 3-4 pages of seals and everything else they replaced. So far no more leaks, and hopefully that will be the end of that. Wife was done driving the gasoline loaner Cayenne. Bummer was with the whole time they had it,I wish they would've done the verification deal for the diesel fix. She ended up having to drive back there for the 15 min verification.
  3. No,the wear indicators were still good and had not triggered the check brake light. Your probably right, had I purchased them from the beginning they would probably still be in the bags waiting for the next front brake job. Fortunately I was able to grab a pair from the dealer for not much more than if ordered from online. Thanks again everyone for the info.
  4. Brakes are done! Thanks to Renntech Forum and those of u that contributed with the great info in here. Ended up having to buy new wear indicators. Took my time and cleaned up everything up while in there.
  5. Finally got all the tools(pins and triple square sockets) and parts. Started in and had a issue removing the wear indicator. Ended up breaking the back side of the wear indicator. Looks like I have to order a set of those. Is there a trick to removing these? I took my needle nose and squeeze the spring clips together with no success. Tried taking the screwdriver to help and that's when I cracked the backside of it. Any tips would be great. Thanks
  6. Pretty sure I read the pump in US gallons and not liters. So when I hand calculate US gallons to US miles I equal US MPG.
  7. Ordered my rotors and pads, and along with that bought the pins as well. Just waiting to for them to show up now.
  8. I agree 100% with u. With pretty much any project, having the proper tools makes the job better and typically easier. I've done this with my Jetta TDI with speciality tools like the rear brake caliper/parking brake reset tool and a few others. I may purchase a brake caliper/piston spreader tool, but something like this I can use on the 3 other vehicles I own. Thanks for the info.
  9. Dang...must of struck a nerve. The word is "excessive" was probably incorrect...and "redundant" is better,I agree there. It's not about the price of $32 being excessive, but more for a tool that I'll use once every 30k miles(4 years) then they maybe "excessive". Who knows this thing may even get bought back by VW. BTW..do u have a set of pins I can borrow? Lol.
  10. Thank u very much. The pins did seem excessive. Does anyone know the torque specs for when I re-assemble?
  11. Just going through this same scenario with our 13 diesel. We bought it used with 19k miles in August. My wife had mentioned to me that a low oil warning came up after owning it for 4-5 months(1500 miles). Thought it was strange that it would be low,so I topped off. Then when I preformed my first oil service I had noticed a drip coming off of the "skid plate/cover" and traced it up to the trans motor connection. Took it to the dealer where did (just it was mentioned here) a tracer fluid and had her bring it back after 500-ish miles. She just dropped it off today,so I'll report back after the get into it. Thanks again for the helpful forum!
  12. My wife just did a road trip from LA to Sonoma and was consistently getting 36-39 mpg. Do any of u know if there is a tuner that will increase MPG?
  13. Thanks guys for the helpful info! Getting ready to purchase the front rotors and pads for our 13 Cayenne diesel, sourced from Sunset Porsche for $529. After reading this thread I'll also purchase those pins for $32. Thanks guys, keep up the great forum!
