  1. Rob Thanks for the recommendation, can you tell me how much that kit lowers the car as I am looking for approx 30mm all round to give it that slightly more agressive look. Cheers Ollie
  2. Thanks for the wisdom guys, Gert emailed me yesterday and recommended the X74 kit and he was unaware of any issues with installing it. Glad I checked here first before spending my cash. What other options do I have instead of the X74? Cheers Ollie
  3. :notworthy: I have a 99 Carrera 4 Coupe fitted with the Sport Techno wheels and the Porsche fitment Pirelli tyres that come as standard (295 rears). Since fitting them the car seems to ride quite high on its suspension, so I have made the decision to install a sport kit that will lower it as well. I have been recommended the X74 kit from Gert, but just wanted to know if any of you have had good/bad experience with this kit or if you would recommend another kit because of clearance issues created by running larger wheels. All advice greatly appreciated. Ollie
  4. Eddy I have not put the jumper back in although I have left that relay easily accessable should I want to. Sat Nav is not a problem as I also have a handheld system that covers the UK and Europe. I will test this out next week when we travel to Spa and the Ring for a long weekend of fun with 6 other cars :-) Ollie
  5. Eric Word of caution... I did this hack on my 2001 C4 after fitting the PSE and noticed that the Sat Nav and trip computer stopped responding. After having my local dealer look into it for me they traced it back to the jumper that I removed when doing the hack as it sends the speed signal to the Sat Nav and computer as well as the electronics controlling the exhaust valve. You might find that if you do this hack you may have a problem with the nav system. Ollie
  6. Jmac I have been experiencing several problems relating to the PSE hack that I did a couple of months ago. When I removed the jumper it stopped sending a signal to the PCM navigation system and trip computer which basically stopped them from both working. Let me know how you get on when (if) you attempt to remove the speedometer cable from the relay and bare in mind that if you remove it and you have a PCM system/sat nav you may cause more trouble. Cheers Ollie
  7. I had the PSE installed on my MY 2001 Carrera 4 a couple of weeks ago and all has seemed fine. Whilst driving the car today the check engine light came on when I was sitting in some traffic, and has stayed on permanently. I looked in the manual and this is the emission light, so could this be related to the PSE installation or do I have a bigger fault to look forward too? Advice greatly received as I am concerned about my bank balance! Cheers Ollie :(
  8. I recently took my car in to my local dealer to have the PSE and electronics fitted, and all is well with that but when I picked the car up from the dealers I noticed a small (8mm diameter) metal ballbearing in the drivers footwell just behind the mat. I thought nothing of it and have assumed that the mechanic might have misplaced it or it rolled out of his pocket, but now the steering wheel does not feel as smooth as it used to when I turn it at slow speed. Is a metal ballbearing part of the steering assembly inside the car or play any part with the steering assembly at all? Cheers Ollie
  9. Jimmy The auto central locking function was not enabled when I picked the car up anyway so I don't know if this mod has disabled it or not. I tend to lock the doors with the button on the dash when I get in the car anyway. Cheers Ollie
  10. Got home, said hello to the wife and within 10 minutes the metal jumper bar was out. Thanks Loren for the guide, perfect! Car sounds how is should have done from the factory now. Cheers Ollie
  11. Thanks for the info, I have done a search on the problem and found the info relating to removing a fuse relay in position 23. Guess what I will be attempting this evening ;) Cheers Ollie
  12. Paul I have got the full system installed with the dash mounted switch to quieten down the exhaust when I want too. Is there an automatic closing of the valvle that happens at a pre-defined point relating to speed & revs then? If so can it be overridden without harming the functionality of the dash switch? Cheers Ollie
  13. Hi all Have been reading this site for some time, and now I have my Carrera 4 I am constantly on here and thought it about time I posted. I have just had the PSE system fitted to my 2001 car and whilst running the car over the weekend I have noticed a "flat spot" in the noise coming from the exhaust. Under acceleration in 2nd/3rd gear the exhaust note changes from the deep sport sound back to the normal quiet sound of the original exhaust, it is only evident when running through the 2500rpm to 4500rpm rev range but I am not happy with it. Has anyone else experienced this with their PSE installation or have I got a Friday afternoon job? Thanks for a great site :clapping: Ollie
