  1. Hi guys,

I've been searching for a 957 over the last few months and I think i finally found the right car. The car is being sold through Shift.com and has a 200 point check. The reports look good, except for the minor cosmetic damages. I followed up with the service centers to see if the car is in good shape and everything checks out. One concern, is the mileage being around 50k. I was told that I should expect to replace the drive shaft over the next few thousand miles. Porsche service quote $2k for labor and parts--does that seem reasonable or would be closer to half of that at an independent service center? Also, this would be my first Porsche. Until now, I've been driving BMWs, so maintenance was covered. What can I expect in maintenance costs for 50k,60k, 70k?.. for you Orange County members, any good recommendations on an independent service center?

FWIW, this car seems like a good deal with low mileage and no visible problems--at least to me. The more important question is, would you guys buy this if you were in the market for a 957? Any concerns?

    Thanks in advance!
