  1. Hi, I got the Yokohama Advan S4 275/35/18 which fit on the stock 11Jx18. These are all season Z rated and have a very good rating. Hope it helps. Prad
  2. I see loren suggests something from AutoZone? Whats the basic difference between the optima / autozone one? Also which one is the easiest to change, I want to try avoiding modifications if I can.
  3. Is it physically possible - the reason - steering wheel controls ??
  4. Greetings Gurus, I finally took the plunge and bought the car. Its parked in my garage. I keep gaping at it. It stares back. I feel we have a connection there. 1. I bought a warranty through the dealer for 3 years or till the car reaches 100K miles from aswarranty. Has anyone had experience with them. I have the platinum coverage which includes everything except wear / tear. 2. How hard is it to replace a bulb in the headlight (found out one of the bulbs - not headbeams / not xenon - but I guess a courtesy light?? that sits on the outside corner of the light assembly is not working). 3. I want to put the non smokers kit on..I found the tray..wanted to know if I can plug the cig liter with some cap. 4. I have a feeling that the battery is weak. Anytime I start the car, I see the amp meter going down all the way - once its startes it hovers around the 13-14 amp mark. - is this normal. Thanks Prad
  5. Thats who I always buy from...anyhow..bought some Yokohama ADVAN S.4 275/35/18. They fit great..and are rated #1 on TireRack. Thanks for all the help. Prad I want to put Z rated All seasons on the car. The fattest all season tires available are 275/35/ZR18. Factory recommends 265/35/ZR18 on the rear as long as the wheels are 18x10J I am uncertain if the C4S Coupe comes with 18x10J or 18x11J on the rear wheels. If they are 18x11J, then I will have to use the 275/35/ZR18, which makes a 2% diff (which is still below the safety limit of 3%).

  7. Hi, I'm about to buy some new tires for a 2002 C4S Coupe Tip. They currently have 295/30/ZR18 on them. What is the skinniest I can go on these. I want to put Z rated all seasons on it, therefore wanted to find out. The fattest all seasons are 275/35/ZR18 (but these are about 2% larger according to the calculator). I wanted to put 265/35/ZR18, which the factory manual suggests, however, I am not sure it will fit the wheels I have. Thanks for your help gurus. Prado
  8. Hi Gurus, I'm looking at buying a 2002 C4S Coupe (Tiptronic). The car has about 56K miles on it. I was wondering are there any specific problems with this year / model, other than the obvious checks for RMS. I am buying from a dealer that sells Porsches / Mercs (not a new porsche dealer). I also have a few questions regarding this car in general. 1. The dealer is offering an extended warranty through a Company called AutoSource Warranty. aswarranty. Has anyone had any experience with them? 2. Any software / tool available that I can hook my laptop to check for any faults in the system ( I have an OBDII scanner ). 3. Is there a PPI form that I can use to have it checked out by an Independant mechanic. 4. Is there anyone on the forum that would be able to check the VIN and retrieve the Porsche Service History of the car. I live on Long Island, NY Thanks in advance for any help. Sincerely Prado
  9. A friend is looking to get a 2002 Carrera Coupe, it has the updated Gauge cluster, but still a CDR-220 not a CDR-23. Will the CDR-23 work on a 2002? Thanks Prad
  10. Hi, Thanks for the information. Here is a picture of the driver side litronic I am about to get. It seems it has a broken tab. Is this vital or can I install it without it.
  11. Greetings folks. I am about to get a set of litronic lights, without the wiring harness, or the leveling controller. Can I use just the litronic headlamp units by swapping out my stock amber headlamps, or do I necessarily need the added wiring harness / leveling controller. Will it cause any electrical problems? Any help would be really appreciated. Prad
  12. Question - Can anyone who has access to the Porsche database ( When I had a boxster, they were able to tap into the database and tell me everything that was done to the vehicle. ) Tell me any details on the vehicle I am about to get. VIN: WP0AA2999XS622738
  13. when you mean online pro you mean the becker online pro, or something else. If so, where would I buy this, I dont think these are available in the US. When I took a look at a picture of the back of a CDR-230, it looked identical to the CDR-220 except for the fiber optic link. I thought it would work without the fiber optics, but I guess it wont. All the analog connections look the same. Anyhow, thanks a ton for the info Prad
  14. Greetings folks. I have found a 99 C2 near my area which has about 44K miles, and I am considering buying it. Carfax says its clean, and on driving it everything looks and drives clean. He has replaced the rotors, pads and tires about 3K miles ago and they seem to be in excellent condition. This is a 99 C2 Coupe Tiptronic Transmission, 18" Wheels. Since this is an early 99 model, It has the amber lights. I am considering upgrading the lights to litronic from either ebay or elsewhere (please let me know of any suggestions). I also need to change the rear taillamps to clear (need info on how to go about doing that.) Please let me know of anything I should be aware of in these models, and look for any tell tell signs before I buy this car. Another question is about the CD player. It is an old CDR-210, and I was considering to upgrade it to the CDR-23 (If at all this is possible.) If it is not, then I will have to go with some aftermarket solution. Please help. Look forward to hearing from you, Sincerely, Prad
