  1. Thanks, Loren. I thought the cables were only available on pre-02 boxsters that had mechanical trunk latches, as opposed to electric. I had previously looked in the wheel well and didn't see a cable. Do I need to pull out the liner? Thanks.
  2. I have a 2002 Boxster S, and I was recently putting in a new radio. I had disconnected the battery. While I was routing some cable my now ex-girlfriend slammed the hood down (the ensuing argument did not resolve why). I have tried to connect a battery to the fuse post, but I still can't get the front trunk solenoid to pop (all I get is honking alarm horns). I can't use the key fob since too much time has passed. I believe my model does not have a manual cable to use the screwdriver or pulling something in the wheelwell tricks. Is there a way to get that solenoid to fire? Or something mechanical I can do? Thanks.
  3. I am thinking about replacing the Bose speaker System in my 2002 Boxster S. I have already replaced the Head Unit with an Alpine IVA-W200, and it is amazing in operation but I feel like the Bose speakers and amp are holding it back. Does anyone have details on the speakers that were installed with the Bose system? I want to do some research on the technical details of the speakers before I start pulling my dash, doors, and box apart. I do realize they are not 4 ohm speakers, but would like to get some specs, if possible. Also has anyone done such a upgrade? I am thinking about putting in a new 6 channel amp (maybe Audison), and maybe Dynaudio or Focal speakers. Thanks for any info.
  4. It takes a little doing, but yes I got it to work. You have to modify the center din surround (at least I did, since the one from my 2002 Boxster S had a permanent cross piece). I used a dremel to get everything to fit (though I am still working to get it completely firmed up). The wiring took some time since I have the Bose option. I am really encouraged, and will post pictures once everything is done. Strong.
