  1. I will try that tomorrow afternoon! That sounds like a great idea to make sure the connector is secure. Tried to buy the "driving light" or "fog" Light blub from Napa. They said HUH!? "not in the book, part does not exist".... Do I have to buy this blub from the dealership? thanks for all the help.
  2. Hey Guys, I have a 2.7L 2000 with roughly 65k on her (bertha). My Passanger side headlight has completly sh!t the bed on me. So about a month ago I noticed that only low beam worked out of that headlamp! Signal, high beam and fog/driving lamp where all not working. So, I cheacked the fuses, they seemed fine. I pulled that headlight and checked the male to female connection, again all seemed fine. So I ran down to the local auto parts store and bought the a headlight and signal blub. Then I carefully installed the blubs making sure everything was clean dry etc etc. Put the key in the igintion... and ..... NOTHING WORKS NOW! I sucessfull spent several hours and about $60 to make my headlight WORSE! Ughh So before I take the car to the dealer what should I check or recheck..... What did I miss?
  3. Thank you for that! That is super helpful. I am looking at a couple of '05 Turbo's. I just found on with only 14k on it and is priced less then 50 grand! That seems to good to pass up! I will post pics and an update as I move forward with this purchase. How hard is ipod hookup on this model? Just wondering. thanks again everybody....
  4. thanks for the quick response. sadly those codes did not work.....so I am SOL. Guess I will try the dealer Thank you again you are the best PR
  5. Thanks everybody! Super helpful advice. I have been poking around ebay a bit and found a handfull of '05 TURBO's for under 40k. Most with average milage. Are there any issuse that anyone has run across with higher milage Cayenne's? Other then the obivous! How hard is the car to work on yourself? As with ALL of my past Porsche's I have done most of the regular stuff, brakes, Fluids/filters etc. What do you all think is a better buy: Lets say option A is An 06 "S" loaded with 20k or Option B an 05 Turbo with 50k Price, color options all being = Oh side note I live in NorCal and will be driving this car up to Reno and Tahoe in the winter over hwy 80. Can't wait to try in a Cayenne. Thanks again PR
  6. Hey guys, I have had many Porsche in my life but I have never had a Cayenne. I was hoping to get some general feedback as to what people feel is the "best" MY Cayenne. Ok first off this car is going to be the family car (wife and two active dogs...kids coming someday) This car will mainly be drivin by my wife. (My dream is a GTS in GTS red BUT.. its 90k and way to much car for her. ) So we are looking at used "S's". What options are a must have? MY to stay away from? Are there any ares to be mindfull of? Etc etc etc.... I apperciate any help you can give. PR
  7. got another one for you! CR-220 Becker-1 4462 Y5034545 Any help would be great, thanks PR
  8. I have the 996 GT2 Front bumper in my MY00 and it looks great. Though it scrappes ALLL the time. I love it though.
  9. I thank you for all the help. I have done some research, and I did not find the answer to my question, (although I did find many differnt ways to hook up my Ipod) I have been looking into the ICE link. I called them 3x and have yet to talk with anybody. Other then there site, is there a safe place to buy one? I already bought the cable to hook up the Ipod to the back of the CDR220, so I think I just need to find a good car mount. Any ideas there~
  10. buy a new head unit with ipod control. If anybody could chime in with a less useless answer
  11. OK sorry guys I know this stuff has been posted all over. But i can't sem to get it right. I have a MY00 with a CDR-220 I want to hook my Ipod Nano up to my radio (with docking station) so that I can control everything from my radio and charge the ipod in the docking station. How do I do it, and where do I buy it. Pertend I am really dumb. Thanks guys
  12. I am finally having the front bumper repaired. I have a MY00 2.7 liter. I want to upgrade my front bumper to something a little more agg. but I want to use Poly and not fiberglass. That limits my options to what Porsche already makes. My body shop guy tells me that I can get the S front bumper w/ground effects. I have no idea what that looks like. Any pics would be great. Thanks for the help guys
  13. Ok, So I have a set of Hawk pads, and a new set of wear sensors and the Porsche recommended brake kit. I will also be painting my brakes red with new logo's when I do the b. pad change. My question is, how do I tell if I need new rotors. I dont really have the extra cash to spend on new rotors right now. And besides I really want to upgrade to cross drilled anyway. It does not look to be any deep scoring on the rotors,...but I bought the car with 47k in it, she now has 59k and I have no idea of when the rotors where last changed, if ever. What to do?
  14. Thanks! Hey found a good deal on Hawk pads to put up front. Has anybody tried these before, ( I have used red box Mintex pads in the past) I can't seem to tell if they have a spot for the wear sensor. Other then checking the thickness of the rotor, how do I tell if the rotor is to worn? And if so what have people used in the past that is good (and resonably priced) Thanks again!
  15. Hey Guys? I have a MY00 2.7L and my brake ware light went on. What do I need to do a front brake job and what is involved? I rarely do DE events but I would like brakes with a bit more bite. I would like to do this for as little as I can get away with. Any upgrades I should think about at this time? Any insights would be great, thanks in advance,
