  1. Yeah its like one of the worst situations you can have :(.
  2. Sorry to revive this topic but I am having the same issue. But I found some metal when I pulled my actuator. I'm praying I don't need a new motor. Has anyone solved this issue?
  3. Just maybe wanted to get some advice on price point for my car. I bought the car about 9 months ago. Car currently has 54300 miles, Artic Silver, Grey interior, 6 speed manual, with the carbon package, factory areo kit, and the Porsche crests in the headrests. I've recently been having issues with an intermittent error P1358 error code (Camshaft adjustment bank 2 below point. I've swapped the camshaft position sensor, the actuator on bank 2, and checked the valve adjuster bracket. None of that worked. I haven't gotten down to try the following troubleshooting steps to alleviate the issue: P1358 Camshaft Adjustment, Bank 2– Below Limit Possible fault cause Solenoid hydraulic valve is triggered, camshaft does not switch into early position ♦ Dirt in system ♦ Solenoid hydraulic valve mechanically blocked When I swapped camshaft actuators on bank 2 I discovered a little bit of metal. I cut into the oil filter and found some more. I haven't flushed the system yet as I am not sure what I am going to do. There's no rod knock and I'm thinking maybe a camshaft ring broke that dropped some metal. Car has new center radiator, spark plugs, 997.1 coil packs, new camshaft position sensor, new camshaft actuator on bank 2, brand new water pump, thermostat, and drive belt, new pads and rotors. The car has 71lb RC Fuel injectors currently spraying at a 60lb rate, fabspeed exhaust, fabspeed headers, competition plenum, evoms intake, and custom dyno tune, gt2 slave conversion and clutch, gt3 shifter. Interior for the car for it being 15 years I'd rate it 8/10 and body 8/10. So with the above mentioned what could I start at price point wise? Is 30k obo reasonable? Thanks.
  4. So horrible news when I swapped the actuator. I found some metal and when I tore into the oil filter there were metal shavings. Kind of at a loss on this one......... I've only owned the car 9 months and have changed the oil 4 times and until yesterday found no metal shavings or anything. I am the 3rd owner of the car and this is mainly a weekend/nice day car. I've never tracked the car. I did some research and also went through the links Jpflip provided and only thing I can think of is, is maybe somehow a camshaft ring maybe broke, but I don't know. At this point I think I'm probably going to get rid of the car and look for another Pcar. I don't have time unfortunately to pull the motor apart for further troubleshooting.
  5. Thanks for the welcome guys!!
  6. Thanks! I'm 100 percent confident it is not the tune.
  7. I've had intermittent issues lately with the camshaft lifters not lifting properly. I've changed the camshaft position sensor, checked the solenoid bracket on the valve adjuster, and now will be swapping out the actuator on bank 2. If this doesn't work any other ideas? I'm hoping it's not a camshaft sprocket failure, but with it being intermittent I'm more leaning towards a sensor of some sort. Car is a 2002 6 speed 996 TT. The code that comes up on the durametric is P1358 Camshaft adjustment bank 2 below limit. Thanks Guys!!
  8. Thank you very much JFP in PA!
