Contacted a local PCA member with a Durametric, and cleared the airbag fault code. Took longer to setup, establish a connection with the car, and startup the software than to clear the code.
I had to disconnect the passenger side door airbag as part of door panel removal, to replace the door lock mechanism. To check that I replaced the part correctly, I reconnected the battery and turned the ignition key, and got an "Airbag Failure" warning. The fault didn't clear even after disconnecting the battery, reconnecting the airbag and closing up the door panel, and reconnecting the battery. I confirmed the airbag was reconnected. I suspect that it may be a "latched' fault that can only be cleared via the Durametric tool - thoughts?
I managed to remove the screw by getting a thin flathead under the screw head. Turning it while applying outward pressure did nothing, so I pried it out until I could get pliers on it, and pulled right out. Thanks to the awesome collective knowledge of the Porsche community!
There isn't any gap behind the screw head, and given the screw's location and confined area, I ordered a prying tool like this, to apply some backward pressure and hopefully get some lift: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HMZHHJC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_ep_dp_Zr2ZAbR49KMSH
The plastic screw on the door panel, inside the storage compartment, spins and spins but does not back out. See picture, attached, or step 3 of this door removal guide, for the screw I'm referring to: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-remove-the-door-panel-from-a-Porsche-996/ Anyone else ever had this problem? Any ideas on how to extract the screw? Drill it out, use a screw extractor? Is there a suggestion for a tool to get behind the screw head, apply outward pressure, until the plug or nut securing the screw grips on something, allowing the screw to back out? I'm willin
Hello, I recently bought a 2002 Porsche 911 C2. Battery was recently disconnected to do some work, and now I am prompted for the radio code. The factory head unit is a CR-220, Type 4362. Serial number is 15003039. Thanks in advance!
