Durametric will clear the code for the Airbag light.  If you don't have it, maybe someone in your local PCA chapter has one.  Or a local indy.  Takes longer to hook it up than it takes to clear the code.

Contacted a local PCA member with a Durametric, and cleared the airbag fault code.  Took longer to setup, establish a connection with the car, and startup the software than to clear the code.

  2. I had to disconnect the passenger side door airbag as part of door panel removal, to replace the door lock mechanism. To check that I replaced the part correctly, I reconnected the battery and turned the ignition key, and got an "Airbag Failure" warning. The fault didn't clear even after disconnecting the battery, reconnecting the airbag and closing up the door panel, and reconnecting the battery.  I confirmed the airbag was reconnected.  I suspect that it may be a "latched' fault that can only be cleared via the Durametric tool - thoughts?

Loren is right...just apply a bit of lift and the screw will back out (been there done that).  Do not try to drill it out, it will only spin.  BTW, it is just a plastic screw in an expansion bit, like a drywall anchor.  If really stuck and you are at the end of your tricks, put some vise grips on it and give it a good hard yank.

There isn't any gap behind the screw head, and given the screw's location and confined area, I ordered a prying tool like this, to apply some backward pressure and hopefully get some lift: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HMZHHJC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_ep_dp_Zr2ZAbR49KMSH

  4. The plastic screw on the door panel, inside the storage compartment, spins and spins but does not back out.  See picture, attached, or step 3 of this door removal guide, for the screw I'm referring to: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-remove-the-door-panel-from-a-Porsche-996/

Anyone else ever had this problem?  Any ideas on how to extract the screw?  Drill it out, use a screw extractor?  Is there a suggestion for a tool to get behind the screw head, apply outward pressure, until the plug or nut securing the screw grips on something, allowing the screw to back out?  I'm willing to sacrifice the plastic screw if it means I can remove the door panel.

Any help is appreciated, and thanks in advance.
