  2. Hi, Everyone, I am new to this forum and first of all I would like to say that this site is the best for information on maintenance, repair and tips of all Porsche sites on the web. I am currently a new owner of a 2010 Porsche Cayenne Base with 70,000 miles and so far except for the clogged cowling and a/c drains that i fixed (thanks to this site) it has been the best car I have owned. My question is, the owners manual says that the ATF should be changed every 160,000 miles or I think 12 years. Is this safe or should I be doing it more often regardless of what they say. What do you experienced owners recommend, I Love this car and I want it to last as long as possible. All previous maintenance had been done at the stealership and I don't see any record of them changing the ATF before I got it. Thanks In advance.

Cowling Intake Leaf Problem Solved Last week we had two days of constant drizzle and just by chance I noticed that the carpet was wet under my front floor mats! obviously I panicked and started looking for the source of the water leak. After clearing the condensate drain (which did not seem to be plugged) I went online and started researching for other possible causes and found that many other Cayenne owners get water intrusion in the front foot wells due to clogged cowling drains, so i checked mine and low and behold they were clogged! These Drains are not easy to get to, one is under the drivers side cowling and is accessed either by partially removing the fender well or by removing the louvered access door where the brake reservoir is (this door is also the air intake for the A/C system) and using a straightened out plastic hanger fish around in there until you find the drain and poke thru to clean it. The other Drain is under the passenger side cowling and accessed either by partially removing the fender well or by loosening two clips, prying up the cowling and using a straightened out plastic hanger fish around in there until you find the drain and poke thru to clean it. After doing this and flushing the drains out with water multiple times I realized that this plugged drain issue is mostly caused the the large size of the holes in the louvered access door. The holes are so big that just about any leaf can fall in there and believe me getting those leafs out is a nightmare! So after a lot of head scratching, looking at other manufactures properly designed cowl vents and cussing I came up with a solution that should take care of 95% of the drain clogging leafs, so instead of describing the rest ill post the pictures and if you have any questions just let me know. FYI: the Strips are 1.5" wide (this fits perfectly between each rib)

  6. I spoke to my Porsche dealership about this and they told me that it’s normal on a cold start and that that’s how they heat up the catalytic converter quicker to meet emissions standards
