I did do that and all checked out. My findings were:
Fuel press Engine off 3.3bar
Engine idle 3.1 bar
FPR .51 bar at idle,....... that's why I decided to send the injectors off. On the right track?.....you think? V

99 Boxster 140,000 miles, Chasing around P1123/1125 Codes... which... I think shows that the DME is leaned the engine to max. I pulled and sent out my fuel injectors for cleaning thinking they maybe causing too much gas into the mix.(leaking or dirty). Am I on the right track? If there was a vacuum leak I figured it wouldn't be leaned out cause there would be too much air in the mix. Already replaced AOS,MAF,fuel filter, cleaned plenum and Throttle body. Fuel pressure and FPR seem ok. Thanks Vince

Tried everything.....dosen't work.

OK .....so in the TSB it mentions a different set of instructions for 'MY 2002' and up which involves using the connector from the L side. I wonder if my Litronics(bought the assemblies used) are from a more recent year, essentially they're the same instructions except you're taping into the L High beam wire instead of the R. Worth a shot....see what happens. Thanks Vince
-
Yes...there are only 3 wires....white tapped to white on headlight connector, ground ….and rd\brn tapped to window washer. As per pelican instructions. It only works once if I turn the headlight switch to the on position then start the car.
JFP ...counting on you.

Thanks Terry....I did sort it out ..... I think I used thinner washers to free up the play. The ones that came with the kit fit too tightly. V

Tried two different known working modules with different PN #'s in my 99 Boxster, both did not work. Traced good continuity all the way to inside of the headlight assemblies to the motor that moves the low beams. Any ideas. Please?? V
-
I have 2 of the very 1st you mentioned. Both don't work. So you're saying I may have the wrong version? You forget 996.618.051.02 I guess ill try that next then can it.Thanks for getting back to me. V

Well I upgraded my 99 Boxster w/ Litronics and its not working. This is the upgrade with Xenon lights and the control module which allows the low beams to rotate up a few degrees when turning on the high beams. I get the little dance when I have the light switch turned on before I start the car. The beams cycle up down then up again. This is the only time they move. Nothing happens when high beams are on. I checked the wiring pinouts, continuity, wiring (only 3 wires white, ground and power to wash nozzle. ) I also checked voltage. 13.7 V from wire tapped to washer nozzle when engine on, 13.7V from white wire when high beams are switched on. Everything seems to be wired correctly, the motors in the lights work and I have correct voltages. The only thing I can think of is a bad module(I actually tried 2 and got the same results) so they both would be bad or a bad light switch (but the high beams aren't activated from that switch) any thoughts on this? Thanks Vince

Well ....spring is coming and I will probably start chasing my P1123/P1125 CEL codes. They spring up every so often....so far i drove 100 miles without the CEL but it is pending. 99 Boxster....new MAF/AOS Gas Cap/Oil o ring/cleaned Throttle body. Can I use one of those water based DJ smoke machines to find a vacuum leak. Or should I just buy a fuel press.regulator which is a little more than the smoke machine. Regulator pulled about 15'' of vacuum which is on the low side I believe. Fuel pressure 3.3 bar engine off and 3.1 bar engine idling. Where should i start. Thanks V

Hi All, Adding the Litronic control module to my litronic upgrade (99 boxster) and don't want to spend 125.00 on a wire harness.(The only thing cheap about a porsche is the owner!!!) No luck finding a used harness or pigtail. So.....I was thinking of making my own harness using the correct crimp on pins that are available. I need to get a pinout for the module. I can make out that 4 wires for each side that go to the headlights(8 total) there are 9 other wires(sounds like too many to me) that are the mystery. If anyone has more info that would be great. Thanks V
-
Anyone have the pinout to the litronic control module? I have the round female pins that fit the pins on the module and they fit nice and snug on their own. I'm just going to fashion my own harness. Thanks V
-
No, I picked up the control unit for 50 bucks on ebay. No harness or pigtail. What I really need are the plugs, I would be able to get the pins and duplicate the harness. V

Hi All, I upgraded my stock headlights to the litronic xenons 99 Boxster and was going to take it a step further. Picked up the control module on ebay to have the hi beams do their little dance. I'm just wondering if there are any resources to find a used wire harness for the upgrade. I mean they are available for 130 bucks but if I can find a used pigtail I can make my own harness. Tips on finding a used harness PN# 996.612.988.00 Thanks V

Well...I installed the left seat and it does heat pretty good....takes some time. I clipped the manufacturer fuse out just using the 1 fuse from the box for both seats. See how it works. V
-
Installing after market heated seats cause I"m reupholstering. The heated seat kit include fuses, one for each side. Isn't the 1 fuse at the fuse box sufficient enough rather than having 3 fuses in the circuit. I'm tapping into #6 fuse which is unused(was for heated seats option). Thanks V

I think you have to move the key to the acc position then insert the paper clip. Also, remove the rubber grommet between dash and cylinder first. Pelican has the directions as well. I recall getting the cylinder out was a bit wonky, had to fiddle with it a lot before it released. V

OK Thats what I thought. Just ordered an M490 on ebay. Can anyone confirm the part # 999 652 568 22 for the pins I need to snap into the plug for the rear speakers. Thanks V
-
So the M490 6 X 40 replaces the M490 4 x 40.....all that needs to be done is remove the keyed molds on the plug and run wires to speakers. Correct?? Thanks V
-
Thanks for the info....so the M490 amp seems like the one. Probably be my next winter project. Not quite following the brown plug business. So an extra harness(brown plug) is made up to go from the head unit to the amp?? Are these the pre outs that go to the amp for the rear speakers? Or.....maybe not....I'm using this amp for an upgrade to add rear speakers where I have none presently. So in my case I think I just modify the clip to plug into the 6 way amp then add the 4 rear speaker wires to the clip that go to the rear speakers. Correct? V Thanks V

Hi All , Recovering my 99 boxster seats. I started with the seat back bolsters and all went pretty good. I'm having trouble getting the last 6 inches of the vinyl molding or edging into the plastic channel on the back of the seat back where the map pocket is. It keeps popping out....i even tried a little contact cement but not working. Any ideas

Happy Holidays All, Installed short shift kit 99 boxster. A few things.....noticed the metal covers that house the bushings which accept the circlip are notched but didn't see any notches on the shift assembly. They both went in fine although one I had to apply a fair amount of pressure squeezing it in to get the circlip on. The circlip was also very tight and had to be forced on w a screwdriver. The shifter shifts fine but I'm finding laterally from side to side it doesn't spring back to center when in neutral. In hind site I'm thinking maybe I should have removed one of the washers that go between the metal cover and the bushing to free it up a bit. I still might be able to do it through the boot cover. Also, I only installed the set screw and jam nut on one side but there really wasn't any play to pick up anyway. Thanks v
-
Think I answered my own question.....it goes to the right, to center the shifter....Confirm if you feel like it! V
-
Hi All, Gona upgrade to a short shifter 99 Boxster. The new shifter has the bend in the shifter leaning towards the driver (L) side. In some pix and videos it looks like it should be leaning to the R side. Which is it.... or is it a matter of preference? Read some threads where you just un bolt it and turn it around. Thanks V

So replace the regulator ? That seemed to be in spec...You think...? Easy enough...maybe I'll just do it while I'm in there.
