  1. My 2002 996 C4 Cab VIN WPOCA29922S652150 has Motor number AT66565018. Motor was said to have been replaced by Porsche in October 2005 prior to my purschase but I have no documents to prove this. Does the engine number tell you anything?
  2. There are two Porsche part small plastic sleves or guides which fit into the openings where the top pins go. They also are said to help protect the fabric below from rub damage. I learned this when I bought a used hard top for my 2002 C4 Cab and asked at the dealership what additional parts I might need to properly mount the hard top. While my hard top does not mount exactly flush it does not "groan". I also was told that the top mounting pins can be adjusted but no adjustment was required for the used hard top I bought. Hope this information helps.
  3. You mean... www.sunsetimports.com Unfortunately while Sunset Porsche could supply the Porsche bracket/holder they could not supply the fire extinguisher which fits into that bracket. I think I have found a source in Canada and will let you know more when I receive it. Thanks for your very prompt response. Fred Hegner
  4. 2002 C4 Cab, black/black with power seats I would like to install the factory fire extingusiher and bracket but my Delaware Porsche dealer tell me he knows of no source for the factory ( I guess European size) fire extinguisher. Does anyone out there known of a source for that extinguisher? Thanks, Fred Hegner
  5. Paul, Do you know where to buy the factory fire extinguisher? My Porsche Dealer, Wilmington, DE, tell me these Porsche factory extingusihers are very very hard to find in the USA. Fred
  6. I have a 1990 C4 Cab with 71,000 miles and it has developed over time an oil leak probably due to the failure of the engine long bolt o-rings. Other than that it is is excellent shape. I have considered selling my car but instead shall have the engine rebuilt, new bearings and valve stems, gaskets, etc. Probable cost $10,000. I would guess you should consider a $10,000 deduction +. I would not even recommend making an offer until you had an expert check out the car for you and you get to look at the full service history of this car. Good luck but be careful. Fhegner
  7. I am in the market for a 2002 Porsche 996 coupe and need to know if anyone can recommend a person to do a pre-purchase inspection for me in the Wilmington, Delaware area. This car will be a daily driver and will not be used for DE. It will be a replacement for my 1990 964 C4 Cab. Any recommendations? Fred Hegner
