    Cayenne S
  1. I am getting what i am pretty convinced is a failing front wheel bearing "whine" from my 2008 Cayenne S. Does anyone know the ballpark replacement charges for replacing both front wheel bearings? I have a great independent Porsche shop nearby and I will probably get them to do the work. Looks like *** bearings on Pelican Parts are about $92 each. Thanks, Terry Watson
  2. I have a 2008 Cayenne S. Recently when starting I have turned the key and only had the engine turn over a couple of times, then stop. If I turn the key off then try starting again, the engine fires up. Is this a symptom of a failing battery? I bought the car about 6 months ago so i don't know how old the battery is. I have seen that the battery is under the drivers seat? If this is a symptom of a failing battery, are there any recommendations on a replacement battery? Thanks, Terry Watson
  3. Does anyone have a recommendation for how to add Bluetooth connectivity to a 2008 Cayenne S with the stock head unit? Thanks,
  4. I need to replace the seat switch assembly on My 2008 Cayenne S. I checked the DIY section and there doesn't seem to be a write up on this. Does anyone know how to get the plastic covers off the bottom of the passenger seat so I can access the switch assembly? Thanks, Terry WAtson
  5. Thanks, ordered a new strut that should be here on Saturday.
  6. The foot operated parking brake on my 2008 Cayenne S doesn't release completely when I pull the release lever. I have to reach down and manually pull the parking brake pedal upwards to get the parking brake to release completely. I looked at the diagram of the parking brake and it appears there is a small gas strut on the pedal. Does anyone know if that is what is supposed to retract the pedal when the parking brake release lever is pulled? If not, does anyone know how to fix this issue to get the parking brake pedal to release completely? Thanks, Terry Watson
  7. I recently purchased a 2008 Cayenne S. The drivers side front seat is missing the lumbar support "cover" on the lumbar adjuster switch. The passenger side front seat is missing the the lumbar support "cover" on the lumbar adjuster switch and the fore/aft / up/down cover on the switch that controls seat motion. I looked online for these part numbers and could not find them, so I went to the dealer to get these parts. Much to my surprise, the dealer said that Porsche doesn't sell these parts individually, you have to purchase the entire seat switch assembly for approx. $475 each. Does anyone know how to get a hold of just these switch actuator covers? I would think they must exist in the used parts world, does anyone have a source for used Porsche interior parts like these? Thanks, Terry Watson
  8. I recently purchased a 2008 Cayenne S with ~94k miles. Does anyone know the general torque range for DIY type repairs. My torque wrench has died and I am going to get a new one but didn't want to get something that didn't cover the most common torque settings for this car. Thanks, Terry Watson
