  1. I know this is an old thread. Just wondering if you end up rebuilding the alternator? How did it turn out?
  2. Do you happen to have the p/n? I’ll call tomorrow. Thanks JFP.
  3. Hi Maurice quick question what would be the use of the plastic piece makes in yellow? Is it the rear cover? I noticed the part is broken when I did the transmission fluid change the other day. The center part is missing and I only saw two broken plastic parts attached to each side of the screws. Do I need to replace it?
  4. New member here. I used your trick to use ply bar under the alternator to get it slid off the bracket. When i try to turn the alternator CLOCKWISE to move the swivel arm close to the crackcase (as many of you suggested), i can't get it pass the fastening eye. I guess the bushing is still not "out" enough. any suggestions? i pounded and pounded for hours...
  5. Myra it’s right at the end of the engine and randomly happens at acceleration. I’ll try to have someone with a scan tool to check the car.
  6. the sound randomly comes up from the passenger side of the engine. It seems like it mostly happens when I press the gas pedal. is it because of loose spark plugs, failed cam shaft? I also have lean (bank 2) and misfire issues.
  7. agree with JFP that you need to do a pressure test of the cooling system. It's a simple thing to do and you can rent the pressure gauge from autozone or other parts stores. the other thing to check is to see if coolant is in engine oil by taking out dipstick and have one of two drops of engine oil on a hot exhaust. If it turns to be in white color, there might be coolant in the engine oil. did you try to use scan tool to see if there is any DTC code?
  8. I’m new to the forum and learned a lot of info here. I saw a small crack around the connector of this hose. What is it for? its on the driver side of the engine bay. Thanks
  9. what's the correct part number? who is the reliable source to purchase it from? Thanks.
  10. My 2003 boxster driver seat is sagging. The seat rubber absorber is broken into two pieces and cushion foam seems to be bad too. Is 996-521-505-02 the right part number? I might be able to reuse the cushion foam? I heard year 2002 or prior is more durable? Would it fit my 2003 boxster?
  11. Is seems that Bosch FGR6KE (7413) is the equivalent of Beru FGR6KQU? It doesn't seem like Bosch has FGR6KQU available? Can you confirm?
  12. Is there a difference between FGR6KQE and FGR6KQU? can i use FGR6KQE for my 2003 boxster 2.7L?
