  1. I eventually bought a latch for a 997 (997-561-117-02) from Sunset. They sell it with a harness adapter to replace the 996 unit. Installed and worked OK. But I am having trouble calibrating the top. All the microswitches seem ok. I have the Durametric software. I run the calibration and the top goes up and down just fine, so all the mechanicals seem fine when instructed by the software. But the calibration is never saved to the control module, it just hangs and never finishes the calibration. I have tried with two different laptops and the same thing happens so its not an operating system issue. One thought is that the control module might be bad. I could replace with a used 996 unit but I was wondering whether a unit from a 997 or later would work. The Durametric has limited options for the 996 using the V10 module. The Durametric also has the CONV module for later model cars, which has many more useful functions including reading real tie values, operating thins independently etc. This would be really useful to help diagnose the problem. Hence my interest in getting a later model control unit. If anyone has any experience out there I would appreciate some advice. Thanks, Nick
  2. Hi, I was wondering whether it is possible to replace the three microswitches in the convertible top latch. I have dismantled the latch to fix a roof problem and found that the spring on one of the microswitches had broken off (an A9 07 switch). The plastic casing of the microswitch had broken so would not hold the spring. All three microswitches are in the same wiring harness so I assume I will have to replace all three. The latch mechanism is a single item on the parts diagrams, so it doesn't look like it is serviceable. Indeed, some threads suggest replacing the entire lock unit but that seems excessive for just a microswitch. The other microswitches, e.g. the windshield one, the side flaps and clamshell, are all replaceable. Does anyone know a part number for these switches? Thanks, Nick
