  1. Hi there - My 2005 Cayenne S is running great. On occasion though I notice 4th gear trying to find itself especially if I step on the gas pedal and it's time to go into 5th it will flare its revs up then I let off the gas and it settles into 5th. I don't think the tranny fluid has been changed yet although the vehicle does have 190K miles (305K kms). I have been told by Porsche that changing the fluid might do more harm than good. I am wondering why they wouldn't recommend a fluid change which might help this 4th-5th gear occasional flare. I was hoping to get some input from you kind folks. Many thanks!
  2. quick question for a 2005 Cayenne...are the front outer corner/parking lights supposed to flash when indicating?
  3. ok, so problem fixed. was a sticky latch. gave it a tap and lubricated. nothing more than that.
  4. Ya, suddenly I couldn't get out of my car this morning. All other doors unlock. I can hear the actuator work inside the door but the handle will not open the door from either inside the car or from the outside. Internal component failure? Or sticky door lock. Anyone have this happen in the past? Where should I start the troubleshoot? Thanks!!
  5. all good, managed to DIY it. Added a mound of solder to mimic the second contact tab..if that makes any sense...
  6. is this a bulb issue or the actual unit itself...both sides seems a bit weird that they both would stop flashing at the same time...vehicle info is telling be the check corner indicator bulbs, at least the sensor is recognizing that something is off...if anyone has a plan of attack I would appreciate the feedback on how I should proceed...many thanks!
  7. Are these available to purchase separately or do I need entire headlight assembly? One of the metal contacts on the socket broke off, is there a DIY fix or?...thx
  8. All this is reassuring for sure! I have zero history on this Cayenne. I just know the oil and brakes were just done. I'll first renew the fluids and go from there. Will then purchase the diagnostics tool and dig deeper. Thanks for the feedback.
  9. Good to know CB. The Durametric is good to have as I have been reading up on apparatus required as the owner of one of these SUV's. I am also pretty handy BUT (that's a big BUT) i am at the mercy of all these electronics and computers. The motor purrs nicely, for the time being that's all I have until I read the data. As far as engine/transmission would you say I'm pretty safe?? tough question...
  10. Just recently purchased a 2005 Cayenne S with 303,000 kms. The vehicle runs great, small issues (bulbs, seat warmers yada yada...) and no warning lights on the dash except for brake wear sensors (!) on the vehicle info display. Should I be worried that an any time this thing will explode on me? The vehicle had been a leased car most of its life. Clean CarFax. I am a new Porsche owner never driven one before. I just need some reassurance or information on how these handle once they surpass such high kms.
  11. I took both headlights out, brought them indoors (-20 Celsius), cleaned the connectors, cleaned the contacts for both indicator bulbs, slapped them back in, and viola! worked until an hour later, bummer, right indicator failed. I will have to wait until milder weather to look at the harnesses and assess..good information thx!
  12. This seems like the wise choice to start. Having issues with mine as well. I will try tighten up the connectors and the actual tray guides. Have to get creative!
