  1. I believe Loren is saying to use a reputable independent Porsche shop (not official, but reputable)....
  2. right above that is the AOS.... has a tendency to leak by the belows area.
  3. the check valve (before the vacuum tank) and the SV (after the vacuum tank) holds the vacuum pretty good. Mine holds vacuum easily a week and still closes the valve before start-up.
  4. you may have a vacuum leak! Might need a new check valve before the vacuum tank, or a leak after the tank... some people choose not to use the check valve that comes with the kit. This check valve will keep vacuum in the tank for a long time. Ive had vacuum as long as 2 weeks and can switch to quiet mode before starting the engine.
  5. maybe you should replace your coolant tank if its old and yellowish... its alot easier to change when the engine is not there...
  6. you can use the relay and wiring that comes from the PSE kit.... something to look into. Check this link out: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...ic=9157&hl=
  7. from what I understand mileage is not a great indication of engine life.... but the hours it has been running is better. Is there an engine running time in the DME that can be accessed.
  8. put a 200 cell sport cat in... this will make it louder
  9. I added the mk1 sides and they mounted the same way as the mk2, they prob updated the mk1 kit to the mk2 mounts recently
  10. gemballa is a tuner company... I have gemballa exhaust and it is NOT oem.
  11. I hear you can pull out the airbox, intake, plenum etc...and have a tight acces to the AOS. To get to the bellows you have access from the rear (tight access as well) but can be done... I think its a harder than replacing the coolant reservior, but similar type of fiddling.
  12. Your 02 had a bump on it while the 99-01 are flat like your pics
  13. Motor mounts are fairly cheap, I had mine replaced while they were mounting my EVO SC... It still not to late, The SC should not rest on anything...also, they might not honor your warranty if something goes wong with the SC, due to improper installation. Who did your install?
  14. congrats chuck....one day Ill get a TT as well. Stay away from the mod bugs! The TT will get you in big $$$ trouble.
  15. those bad fuses with aluminum foil wrapped around it will do it all the time :) ... I hate when that happens... Sorry Chuck, GL with the new turbo!
  16. variocam soleniod valve covers? this is a common leak ,but hard to tell from the pics
  17. I have a mill ed, and yes they are chromed and yes they do flake. It is a very thin chrome plating. I would get them rechromed. pics of the wheels here: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=15760
  18. Hi, I thought that I was the only one with the gt3 kit... includes gt3 seats and a S/C... I would love to see pics of your car and some of your mods: here is some of mine: BTW: what makes this a cool car is the paint and the natural leather scheme...every event that I take this car to, people flock around it cause they thought they have seen it all, especially the violetchromaflair paint, it changes color as the day progresses. I think it is one of the most beautiful paint/interiors scheme in the 996. Mine is 520 of 911. But its not for everyones taste.
  19. That switch will only latch the relay of the heater, the heater power will not go through this swicth. If you hear relays clicking when the swicth is depressed then that part of the circuit is good. Next step is power feed to the relay that powers the seat. I would check resistance on the bad seat, if your not reading any ohms (resistance) then that heater is open (no good). If you have resistance I would compare it to you drivers seat. If the resistance is similar to the good seat then it is not your heater and should be wiring and should check for power issues. GL
  20. Ive not heard of ecu map for cat bypass. Ive heard of remapping of cold air intake and exhuast mufflers. I would take it off, or you will have a better shot at hi flow cat pipes... no ecu remapping neccesary
  21. I believe there is another fuel filter next to the expansion coolant tank. Its on my 2000 c4 anyway, does this sound right?
  22. Thanks Loren, I know the wiring harness, found plenty of info here. Surprised to hear that its a fixed wing... would of been cool to see it vary based on speed... "love that sort of stuff even though its just fluff"... now get some sleep!
