So i recently replaced my oil air separator, but now I've found out my oil fill tube is massively cracked probably from the failing OAS. What im wondering is if i can use just a piece of rubber hosing from the hardware store instead. Seeing how it would be able to take the flexing a lot better than the plastic and would seal way way better than hard plastic on hard plastic. Anyone tried this?

As the AOScan fail catastrophicly and hydroolock the engine, I would not delay replacing these parts.

Not a pro but it may be the AOS ....you can check the tubes coming off the AOS, if there's a good amount of oil there you might consider replacing it. The tube thats running under the driver's side intake is the longer tube that attaches to AOS. The upper dip stick tube can be easily replaced(replace it after you do the AOS cause you will break it again) it just snaps on. The dipstick is weird with mains as well. You sort of have to twist it as your putting in down in the tube. Good luck. v

The guy i bought the car from said he had recently replaced the oas, would it have been able to fail in even 5000km?

Thanks a ton, so should i get the oas and all the hoses from oem, or can i just get other hoses that are cheaper. I live in Saskatchewan, Canada if that makes a difference

I recently bought a 1997 porsche boxster, and ive noticed a couple small spots of oil on the floor. I took the cover off and it seems like the oil air separator area is covered in oil, along with one hose on the driver side of the engine underneath the intake manifold. I also was having problems with the oil dipstick and it appears the tube has cracked, but it won't go down the tube where it is joined to a metal tube
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Power steering leak

So i noticed recently my car has been leaking on the driveway on the front driver side and decided to take a look at what it could be. I put the car on jackstands and took the wheel off and the driver side tie rod boot was wet. Took off the clamp holding it on and it spilled out some fluid. Do you know if i can just replace a seal where the tie rod enters the rack itself or do i have to get a whole new rack and pinion?
Also is power steering delete a viable option and relatively easy?
