  1. Just got her back after being in for over a week. In addition to the RMS leak they fixed the hardtop squeaks. It's totally silent now, but they scratched up the back of the car. I drove straight back and showed my service advisor, he says they can buff them out. He also doesn't know what he the hell he's talking about with the RMS bolts - same part # as last time: 999-073-092-09
  2. ABD uses the brakes to act as an electronic version of a limited slip differential to keep drive torque going to the rear wheel with grip. ABD remains active, even when PSM is turned off.
  3. An informal poll done over at rennlist is the only data I've see: RMS Poll
  4. I had it done in October of last year so they put coated bolts on then. My service advisor is telling there are NEW bolts (this year?).
  5. Mine's in the third RMS replacement as we speak. Apparently it's leaking out of the bolts this time. My service advisor told me that there are new (second set) bolts that Porsche just sent to the dealerships, but no TSB on them. Can anyone confirm?
  6. Thanks again Loren and thanks as well Bernie. I'm thinking of taking it up to Vancouver, but I'm not sure if the warranty will transfer to another country. I haven't heard good things about Barrier down in Seattle. I'm looking to get a picture like this: This is from Eric the Plug Guy's new cab.
  7. Well my car is leaking again. :( The RMS has already been replaced twice. My service manager acts like he has no idea this is a well known problem and doesn't know what the tool is to measure if the engine is out of spec or not. I'm demanding to know how much out of spec it is. It's my understanding the more then 3 mm = new engine. I want to come armed with as much information as possible. I found the "Crankshaft Flywheel Side" TSB, but I can't print it. It also seems there maybe other TSB on this. I'd like to get as much info as possible and print it out to show my service manager. Thanks
  8. My RMS is leaking two months after it was fixed with the new bolts.
  9. Or do this: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=38 I did this and have the SharkWorks TouchTop (no longer in production) It works great.
  10. I move my knee left, ball of foot on brake, blip throttle w/right side of heel.
  11. Great info Porsha, I found the thread here: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=15
  12. I'm going down there tomorrow for a print out. How many times does the RMS get replaced before you get a new motor in the States? EDIT: I found my paper work (wifey is the family file keeper) On paper - RMS was replaced last year.
  13. I just a call from service. It's in for it's third annual service. I bring it in once a year, just to keep up on the warranty. Last year at about 12k miles I had some drips on the garage floor and they told me RMS was bad and they replaced it. It's dripping again, so I asked them to take a look (now 20k miles). This time they said both my axle seals are leaking AND the RMS. I asked them if they were going to replace the RMS again and they said yes. I then said I want it noted in my records that this is the second time it's been replaced. They tell me no, last year they replaced the axle seals. I specifically remember them telling me it was the RMS last year; it's not something I'd forget. I don't know if I still have the paperwork though. In all my reading I've never heard of axle seals leaking. Has anyone heard of this?
  14. In the 997 it's in a funky spot, in front of the sunroof. It also has an individual module for each button, unlike the previous homelink systems (at least the one in my Rover) that has all three buttons on one small unit.
  15. Can can is a color from the '80s. My sister's '86 turbo bodied cab is guards on can can.
