  1. I have the same thing. My tech thinks it's tie rod ends too. Ben, I saw the article you wrote for Spiel - Nice :)
  2. It's not cost effective. I ended up getting a different car for my client.
  3. AC is standard. 573 lets you set a temperature and the climate control keeps it ( Climatronic ). Where the standard is is just low-high temp and fan speed. Our Porsche mechanic is ripping apart two cars right now to find out if it's possible. Wiring diagrams were too hard to read. I thought maybe someone here has tried it.
  4. 573 is the automatic climate control. This car has the standard ( non option )
  5. Yes, I figured out the right forum this time ;)
  6. Does anyone know what's involved in upgrading the standard climate control to the automatic Climatronic?
  7. Hi Loren :) I mean in a 997, MY09 ( should've posted in 997-2? Just noticed that ). I'm a Porsche sales consultant now ( http://www.rogerjobs.com/ ) and my service manager isn't sure if it's an OEM retrofit or not. Figured this was the place to get an answer.
  8. Suspension RoW-M030 or X-73/4 PSE - Porsche Sports Exhaust SSK - Short Shift Kit - Porsche or B&M
  9. Wow - thanks Loren. I knew if there was anywhere I could get an answer it was here.
  10. For the past few weeks my PSM Off and ABS lights have been on, intermitedly (sp?). Sometimes they're on, then the next time I start the car they won't be. Anyone else have this? Anything I can check? I'm about due for a 30k service, but I was planning on doing it myself. I'd like to avoid a trip to the Stealer.
  11. I can't get my garage page to come up. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?&...&CODE=12&CID=10
  12. I can only speak out about the hardtop for the cab. A few years a ago a mouse decided to make a nest in mine and I had to replace the insulation under the headliner. It's one piece, probably weighs between 3 and 5 pounds.
  13. Porsche also updated the mounting hardware in 2002 ( I think?). When my car was still under the factory warranty I complained about it and they updated the hardware - it made a big difference.
  14. There's also this one I just "upgraded" to. Same deal as CGT key head, you need to swap out blade and internals.
  15. I used it in my old 911 ('82) when I lived in Minnesota, worked fine. I'd always top off the gas before I stored it so no moisture would accumulate and then in spring top it off with fresh gas after a 1/4 tank or so.
  16. Replace the stock battery with a gel type Optima Red Top, save weight and all the cons associated with fluids in it. Plus they last longer. Look in the DYI section for instructions or do a search.
  17. My car has about 3 weeks left on the warranty. 2001 22k miles. RMS has been replaced 3 times - the last was about 3 months ago. Also replaced MAF, and PCM. I plan on keeping this car a long time. Does Porsche offer an extended warranty? Should I go w/a third party? Or take my chances? $2,500 for two years seems like a lot.
  18. Pazzo's instruction are right on. Here's how it looks once you get it out.
