  1. Ran it today without problems. Doesn't seem to make much noise when cold. Makes more noise when hot. I will change the gear oil and see what it looks like.
  2. I agree with you and I did have some increased noise from the tranny following the single mass flywheel install. But not at the level that appeared this weekend. My main concern is if a tooth got chipped or something. I will try it for awhile and see if it changes over time.
  3. Backstory - 2006 Cayman S. 63k miles. GT3 TB, IPD plenum, AASCO lightweight flywheel, Sachs spring clutch, Numeric shifter and cables. Clutch and flywheel have around 500 miles on them. Car is primarily autox and hill climb car. We were autoxing this weekend - after the last couple of runs of the day, the transmission began making considerable rattling noise while idling in neutral with the clutch pedal out. The noise goes away when the clutch pedal is depressed. I can't hear any noise when driving the car and it shifts and runs fine. My co driver (my son) says that he was shifting from 1 to 2 during a launch and let the clutch out prior to having second gear all the way in and the tranny made a "funny noise" when he did so. Any ideas? Should I pull the tranny now and send it off for a specialist to look at, drive the car for awhile and see what happens? Any other diagnosis I should do?
  4. Great - thanks for the reply. Will try to use my mechanics touch when installing the plugs. I have seen a few pictures of cracked t cases, which I don't want to do.
  5. I have a more basic question on the changing of the fluid - are most people replacing the drain and fill plugs with new when doing the change? OR reusing your plugs. If reusing, are you putting any sealer on the plugs? We have a 2011 Hybrid S with 85K on it and I plan on changing the fluid this weekend.
