  1. Thanks to Ron Kain, owner of IPB Autosport, for leading me to the answer --- I used a 12 ft 2X4 wedged between the control arm and subframe to leverage down the bearing housing so I could reinstall the lower strut mounting bolt -- this does require a second person -- but is super simple once you have the trick. Thanks to Ron for his guidance !
  2. Thanks for the torque setting info. My next problem is that my B6 sport struts are too long to mate up to the lower control arm fitting -- I tried to jack up the strut ( the springs are not engaged due to the fact they are lowering springs and hence shorter) but the strut slides sideways and hangs up on the control arm fitting so that did not work. If anyone has installed a Bilstein B6 kit on a vanilla B4 suspension, let assist -- I have a picture although for some reason I cannot upload it -- contact me if you want the picture sent directly to you.
  3. Thanks -- in my car ( 2015 cayenne ) I had to remove #1 cover and #3 side rails to access the bolts. I got this reference to DIY from Alyssa at IPB auto in Sac https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufjtKa6_Lbg The parts diagram and pic are quite useful- TFS ! Pardon the thread hi-jack -- but does anyone know the torque setting for those long bolts ? thanks again Paul
  4. Thanks for the info. My question is: "How do I remove the spare tire cover ? " . I don't seem to be able to figure out how the cover is attached. Any help with that would be appreciated. Thanks Paul
  5. Hi All, Feeling pretty silly right now. I jacked up my wife's 958 to R&R the rear struts and realized the upper mounting bolts are inside the trunk ( unlike my 955 CTTS) - bummer. I cannot find any references to how to remove the floor panel so I can pull the upper mounting bolts. I have no idea how that panel is attached to the car. Will someome please take pity on me and either point me to the doc that has this covered or tell me how to get the cargo floor out of her 958 without damaging it ? It's the panel over the spare tire that extends forward to the rear seats. Many thanks in advance -- Paul heliace@yahoo.com 1997 Boxster show pony 2006 CTTS (yippy skippy) 2015 Cayenne Diesel ( road trip special)
