  1. Hi again db Joe, Is it the same unit but located under the rear trim somewhere? Is that the difference between the 986 and the 996?
  2. Hi Loren, thanks, it's a 2001 (October), 996 911 carrera 4 cabriolet. Not sure what other detail specification I can give? Hi db Joe, thanks for the link, but that article seems to point to the 986 double wide relay that is for the 986, not the 996, unless I have missed a detail. Thanks for your time commenting. Ben
  3. Hi, new to the forum, on my wife's behalf. She has bought a 51 plate 996 Carrera 4 cabriolet. We have been researching how to bypass the handbrake interlock for roof lowering. Loads of threads cover the double wide relay in the footwell, we don't have that relay as I think that's an old version, maybe the 986. Another thread mentioned the later models had replaced the double width with 2 singles in the same location, but we don't have those either. I have listened for the clicks when operating the roof, and there is an obvious one under the parcel shelf or on the engine bay somewhere, but I can't easily locate it. Does anyone have any tips on either the location of the relay, or how to hack the car to allow the roof to operate while rolling up to lights. Thanks in advance Ben
