  1. Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum. Ever since owning my 06 cayenne, this forum's been very helpful in trouble shooting and fixing my car to this day. Once again I'm in need of some help. I hope my problem is not too serious. After disconnecting and reconnecting the negative line just in front of the driver seat for my battery; car will turn on. When I try to turn the engine on, it will start cranking and then automatically shut off after a few seconds. The meter for the battery on the dash reads slightly above the 12 when I turn the key on. When I try to start the car it stays above the 12 cranking to start but will not and turns off after a few seconds. What could be the issue? The battery is about a year old and bought it new to replace my old one. It only started doing this when I disconnected and reconnected the negative line located in front of the driver seat. The battery was working great before then. I disconnected and reconnected the same negative line a couple more time after and same thing. I tried jump starting it with my dads truck via the connection points under the hood, no luck. It did crank longer then before then this "low oil pressure" read-out on my dash came on. So I just stopped everything and will try charging the battery at the battery terminals in the morning. Please help. Am I doing the right thing? Did I just kill my battery by disconnecting it a few times? Does it need to be charged? Buy new battery maybe? I appreciate all the helpful advice I can get.
