  1. A few weeks ago I saw a lot of fluid on the ground under my Boxster, I jacked it up and found that it was coming out of the differential. I thought the seal was bad but actually the short inside axle had pull out about 2 inches. Can anyone tell me why the pulled out? As far as I can see there is not bolt or anything that holds it in. I removed it entirely and compared what I saw to a picture on Pelican and there is gaps between each of the bearings and the green plastic (spacer I guess). I reinstalled it with a new seal but I am concerned that I didn't fix the issue with why it came out so it will probably happen again. Any help would be appreciated. Roy
  2. My son was driving my car that I just bought a few weeks ago and he said he was running along in 4th gear and the car basically went into neutral. He had it towed home and when I returned from a trip I started researching what could be wrong. You can move the shift lever into all gears without using the clutch and none of the gears engage. I thought well it might me the cables so I jacked the car up and removed the passenger tire. Had someone shifting the car and I check out the cables, all clips were looking good. Everything is looking good, the main piston moves in and out when shifting, just no gears. My assumption is that something inside the transmission is bad. Any help?
  3. I just purchased a 2002 Boxster, the owner said the top didn't work but the price was right so I purchased the car. I have the key on, parking brake on (light is on), pull the latch and both windows open the 4 inches, I press the button to open the top and I hear a motor or something behind the seat. The top light comes on and then the motor stops. If I press the button for put the top up the light goes off and I hear the motor for a second. I tried to open the clamshell but can't, one side seems a little free the driver side won't move much at all. I think this car was in a accident but not sure. Any help would be appreciated. I am willing to convert it to manual but that seems a bit difficult as well.
