  1. Hi anyone else have any idea or help on this? i have since got a New Amp and still i get the same problem so it must be the live coming in to the AMP that is not turning off and draning the battery. Where does the live to the AMP come from?? Thanks Lee Hi Thanks for replying, i looked back and can see my Stereo was indeed fitted as a replacement around 4 years ago and the problem has existed since then as well. Its a Becker Traffic Pro High Speed unit and works perfect. So do i go for the new Stereo or try to do what you did with the "Live Supply and the detector" what stereo was it? thanks
  2. Loren, Thanks for the quick reply! I think I saw that mentioned as well, any chance you could direct me to a post that addresses tightening that swaybar? -Ben I had what sounds like this and i spent months or diagnosing it. The noise is worse in the summer and is noticable over cobbles, concrete surfaces and drain covers but no speed bumps or potholes. For me i simply took off the Rear Control Arm and applied this fix: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=20681 its been fine ever since apart from the odd rumble, but i can live with that. When you take the arm off it feels fine so dont be suprised. Real easy to take off as well so do both sides. Hope it helps.

  4. Hi fairly new to this but a great read so far and has helped me out a number of times! I have a 1999 Boxster with a Becker SatNav head unit connected to Dash and door speakers via the Amp up front. Its all standard stuff. for the past 4 years if i leave the car for more than 3 days the battery drains and goes flat, i just live with it! for the past 4 monthd i have been pulling fuese and quickly realised that if i took the "Stereo" fuse out i get no drain!! hooray i found the issue..... but i then disconnected the Amp up front (but only the smaller of the two connectors on the amp) put the fuse back and left the the car for a week and hooray no drain!! so i thought its got to be the AMP, i have replaced that AMP and you guest it th problem is still there. So for now i just pull the hood and unplug the small connector block to the amp and the battery is fine. My questions are? Should there or is there a permanent live to the AMP? when i disconnect and reconnect the small plug i can here a click, so there is always power going to the amp? Where does the amp get that power from? i thought it might have been to do with the old Ignition switch problem but everything else related to the ignition is fine? has anyone else had this problem? any help would be greatly appreciated, not looking forwar to another Christmas of flat batterys! Lee
  5. Hi Loren nice to get your view on this. I would agree in what you said It does come down getting the codes out. To be honest the battery goes flat if the car is left for more that 3 days, this has been happening for over 4 years and i have had many people try to find the drain on the battery but unable to so i just live with it. I had noticed that the last 3 times i have disconnected the battery, when i reconnect the idle and misfires have got worse but then after 10 miles or so it passes and the CEL goes out apart from this time! I had read on a previous post about letting the DME learn the idle again so i left it runnning on my drive for 6 minutes or so and that when I noticed the burning red CAT, but it appeared to be only the passengers side one (UK RHD CAR) anyview on that? Thanks again Lee
  6. Hi The Battery on my boxster was disconnected for around 1 week, when i reconnected it today and started it I noticed it was idling realy rough, I then drove it and it drove real badly, it was misfiring and poping and then the CEL came on. I took the car back home and left it my drive up until a few hours ago when i thought i would try again, this time I just left it running on the drive to let it warm up before attempting to drive it again, after 5-10 minutes I came out to the car to see a red glow coming from the rear passengers side (uk rhd car) I quickly turned the engine off and took a closser look, from what i could see (scarey) the whole of the rear passengers side CAT was bright orange and I could feel the heat from 4 foot away. Its now cooled down but i dont want to start it again.... Any ideas? I assume the CAT is cooked! I assume the CAT is the next item looking back from the main exhaust back box, one CAT per side? I have had the rough driving and CEL light issue a few times before but after a few miles the CEL light went out and the car drove fine. this again was after I had disconected the battery due to a holiday. ANy help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks Lee
  7. HI I know this post is old but I thought I would give it a shot! Your instructions and details are spot on and although my repair has improved things the rumbling noise is still there. Its odd how such a small joint can cause that amount of noise over cracks and gravel like surfaces, yet over large holes its silent. Anyway if anything its made me 80% certain that I need to replace the whole arm, its frustrating as the arm itself is fine its just the poor design of the joint. Anyway thanks for your post and advice.
  8. Hi sorry if this is the wrong place to post this! I too am looking to buy a set of the following 18in wheels complete with tyres: 993.362.134.06 7.5J x 18 ET50 FRONTS 993.362.140.04 10J x 18 ET65 REARS I dont know the official name of these wheels I am only have a picture and the part numbers given. 9. Hi this is the first time i have ever written here! but i just wanted to say thanks a million in sticking with resolving your issue. I have had this noise for two months and its driving me crazy! I downloaded your sound file and its the same noise as mine down to a T! As soon as its daylight i will get out there and check the plugs, i am sure that will cure the noise! god its cost me so much time and money trying to resolve this noise. Thanks again! Lee Silver 2.5, with my04 full upgrade!
