  1. I had 04 S, dealer replaced the cluster when there was a flickering problem in the. I have seen the same thing happen as well (display was always resetting to ,i think, avg mph display). Raised it up with the dealer, they said it was the same behaviour as other cars they have. I noticed that the cluster was with newer design (the lettering, colors, etc were different). I guess some incompability with 04 electronics, or the cluster behaviour is different in the newer models. I noticed a pattern of a lot of electrical issues root coused to as having different firmware versions of controlles in the vehicle (mechanic mentioned 20+ controllers networked in the car).
  2. Actually, I was turning left. How is left vs. right make a difference?
  3. Sounds very harsh! I don't know what that is... keep us posted when you find out... I was wondering if this was related to the cardan shaft issue mentioned in http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...l=shaft+cayenne ...
  4. I am seeing the same behaviour, and almost put me into a situation where I could have rear-ended. I was making a U turn, the oncoming traffic was just leaving the redlight and 100+' away. It was a liitle uphill (<5%). I was down to around 25mph and seeng that it is clear, I continued and started to press on the gas pedal. Nothing happened. I continued on pressing the pedal, untill I passed the 3/4 point no response from the vehicle. This is taking around 5-10 seconds. Seeing that the traffic is getting closer, I pressed the pedal all the way, and the vehicle started to move with hesitation and did nto really get fast enough to run away from the traffic behind me (even though I am 100% pressing on the pedal) for another 5-10 seconds. Since this was not really an emergency situation, hopefully the traffic behind me would not have hit me :) . But this concerns me if I had to do this in case of an emergency. Do you guys think that this is an isolated situation, and things lined up perfectly for this, or is this a problem? Thanks
  5. I have noticed this quite a few times so far, and as usual it does not occur all the time :( . When I am backing up (say from parking space) and the wheel is turned in either direction, I sometimes here a harsh noise coming from the underside of the vehicle. First it sounded like the emergency break is making th noise since I can also feel some vibration, but one time I was outside helping the driver (my brother that day) back into a parking spot and noticed it came from the underside of the vehicle. The best way to describe the noise is to imagine closing a door where it rubs agains the concrete and it you push it to close is the best analogy I have. So it it metal on metal noise. Any ideas? Thanks
  6. After the last visit, they said to keep an eye on it, that some movement in temp is normal (even though I have nto seen it on other verhicles, but it could be that the insturmentation in Cayenne may be more sensitive). One definite indication from them was that heating up to 3/4 marker was not normal, and I have not seen it go that high yet (but I have been avoiding that red light, so did not have the circumstances to verify yet) Interesting. So what is your next plan of action?
  7. I had a similar issue, and the temp was going up to 3/4 marker when I stop at a red light for a long period (due to traffic). It woudl start by moving up and back to normal (mid point), and gradually reaching higher temps. One time I had to pull over and stop the car :(. After the long wait, once I get on the high way, it drops down to 1/2 marker within a minute. Dealer diagnosed it as 'Water Pump fins missing', and 'Bearing Failure'. They relaced the Water Pump assembly, but it has not fixed the problem. If I get stuck in the same red light, I see the same behaviour event at cooler air temps (like 45 F). Tunc 2 - I would figure the smell would have been burned off by now, it has been a few months now. 3 - Mine runs "center or a little higher" during highway runs when I believe the cooling system is functioning properly. My issue lies with it running near or at 3/4 on temp. gauge during the "stop n go" city driving. Do you experience 215-220 in "stop n go" city driving? Thanks.
  8. After donation, how do I get access to it (can you provide a link to it)
  9. I just got Roof Rails from a private party. Tried to put them on myself, but having trouble lining up the holes on the rails and the assemblies (assemblies are 3 pieces that gets put in to the Rails on the roof to attach the actual roof rail accessory). I do not have instructions (though it looks like it is straight forward), and it looks like pressing down to force them line up may work. But I do not want to do it since I am not sure if it is the correct way to do it. Has anybody tried this before? Thanks
