  1. Bring this thread back again. Still getting that ticking sound from passenger side. It seems to quiet down after a drive and up to temp. Is this normal or should I have this looked at. Oil just changed and is between 2 dots on stick and 1 bar below full on electronic gauge. The engine was remanufactured 5 k miles ago. The warranty on the engine was transferred to me at time of purchase. So if this is ticking is abnormal and internal it should be covered
  2. Can anyone identify where this leak could be coming from. Location is rear passenger side. See pic.
  3. thank you... I tried it. Seems to be better but still there. Wonder if I should disconnect battery and start fresh
  4. you know.... I think you’re right. I noticed when I bought it the oil on dipstick was on the high side of stick. I asked if the car had been overfilled.. he said no. I’m thinking it was. Now its just above the min mark on the stick. Hopefully it just all burned off and didn’t go anywhere it shouldn’t be. Lot less smoke on start up now. Engine runs quieter. Now if I could just figure out this mild annoying surging at constant speeds. Fn annoying.
  5. Full on stick.. right below the upper dot on stick full on electronic fired up yesterday and no smoke 🤷‍♂️ Sounds much quieter
  6. Will do the cat is 2 years old. Less than 6 k on it. But I’ll have them check that too. Thanks
  7. Oil level is good. Still at full for 500 miles ordered used sai Yes the engine has been overhauled And I’ll be taking car to them to look over. Have a 3 year 100k warranty
  8. Thank you.... I’ll have them check that. I also ordered a used sai just to check to see if that’s causing the high pitched squeal at start up. I can return if that doesn’t fix it.
  9. Only occurs on cold start... squeal and smoke go away quickly. Had a P0430 code as well. Cleared and hasn’t returned. Can anyone help diagnose. Also get very slight surging at constant speed. Engine was recently reconditioned. Heading to shop in a week it’s the soonest they can get me in unfortunately it’s a 200 mile drive
  10. Will these fit? If so will I need spacers? I have an opportunity to get these real cheap. Set of Porsche 19" OEM Porsche SportDesign rims Front Wheels: 8Jx19 ET57 (p/n [hidden information]4) Front Tires: Falken FK452 235/35ZR19 91Y Rear Wheels: 11Jx19 ET51 (p/n [hidden information]6) Rear Tires: Hankook ventus V12 evo² 275/30ZR19 96Y
  11. It was difficult to really see while driving but at constant speed with consistent gas the post cat seemed to stay pretty steady unless I let up on the gas. Depending on how much gas I was giving or not it was bouncing all around. 🤷‍♂️
  12. I just bought a 02 996 cabriolet. It had been sitting for awhile due to engine rebuild. Test drove for at least 70 miles no code. Ran fine. Scanned it before buying.. no codes, no pending codes, no deleted codes. Driving home the gas tank got to just under 1/4 tank and it started surgining/ bucking. Stopped filled up with 93. Better but still surging. Then the light came on. Stopped and put Techron in and reset light. Drive fine for almost 200 miles.. no light. Filled up again... light came back on shortly after P0430 cats and sensors were replaced 2 years ago. Less than 6 k miles since I do get some blue smoke on cold start up. Not a lot. Goes away when warm. Also get squealing noise in cold start. Goes away pretty quick. Sometimes I can hear squealing when warm but very faint I hooked my scanner up. Pre o2 sensors bouncing around pretty good and post pretty steady at .7 Any ideas? Fowler plug from old gas? AOS? Or could it really be the cats even though pretty new
