  1. Hello group,

I have to say, my Porsche Dealership gives awesome service. My car was scheduled for tomorrow a.m. .

I dropped the car off at 1p.m. this afternoon, at 5pm my car was completed. My hats off to them.

The noise issue turned out to be no more then a cracked tailpipe bracket section. (between the tailpipe and the muffler) They re-welded the bracket that the factory supplied on the car.

They also told me that it happens all the time.

    Noise is Gone!!! :jump:

My only disappointment was that the mechanic did a bad job aligning the tailpipe. (it was aimed out to much like 2 inches.) But I adjusted myself when I got home.

I feel relieved that it was a easy fix and not serious engine problem.

    Ciao

  2. Hello all,

Ok, I re-reinstalled the Fabspeed intake (mod), car runs normal again. :clapping:

The only thing I feel could of caused the problem is that maybe the engine management system needed to be reset for a longer period. (2 min) not much time. All I can tell you is that the exhaust had a very strong gasoline smell to it. For now, I will leave the Fabspeed (mod) in.

This Thursday the car is going to the P service center for a check up (for that knocking/rattle sound) and hopefully I do not need a new engine or something.

  3. Ok,

I un-installed my Fabspeed intake unit, re-installed my factory parts.

My car is idling high and when I drive its like bucking. It almost wants to back fire.

It is idling at about 1100 rpm. Everything is installed tight. I disconnected the battery for about 2 minutes and reconnected it. Still doing it.

    Any clue?

It's going into service on Thursday.

  4. I believe that the PSE exhaust is causing the problem I am having with the rattling noise.

The problem is the mechanical piece that is rigged to the muffler to regulate the sound.

I was tapping around the area to try to identify this most annoying sound and I think I found it.

I will call the Porsche dealer tomorrow and schedule a visit.

I would recommend the Ruf exhaust. It looks like it weighs much less and I'm sure it sounds great.

If this problem can't be fixed I might switch.

Has anyone here with PSE had this problem? Its like a bunch of loose chains when driving in gear in the

    lower rpm range.

  5. Any leak underneathe? Get the car up on ramps to check bc leak doesn't always drip to floor. Compression test should be done if no leak.

Try to keep the oil in there for 10k mi. Sometimes new engine have a hard time breaking in w oil that's too new.

Try thicker oil, esp in summer, 15-50 wt Mobil 1.

No leaks, I clean the under-carriage while changing the oil.

Someone else mentioned that the synthetic oil slows the wear-in time.

My 930 used a qt. approx. every 1500 miles. (but that car had over 500hp)

My Cayenne never needs oil between changes.

  6. Hello all,

I would like to bring up oil consumption again. My car is guzzling 1 qt. approx.

750 miles. I have 10500 miles and it has been doing this since I purchased the car

new in 2003. I change the oil & filter every 5000 miles and only use Mobil 1 0/40.

I followed the 2000 mile break-in rule. (which was hard)

The next step is taking it to the dealer. Any clue? Is this normal?

    What will they do?

  7. Thanks to Loren's great instructions, I was able to install my PSE exhaust

    on my '03 C4S myself.

I love the sound and the car feels a bit more responsive.

Has anyone here installed an aftermarket header with this set up?

I think I will install a performance chip next.

I just filled up with 100 octane fuel, car really woke up.

    Later, Joseph :jump:
