  1. I think you may be right - however - I could have sworn to have hel the key in both positions - and got nothing - I will try it again when I get home. (From the manual) With the vehicle key: > Hold the vehicle key in the locking position in the door lock until the convertible top has reached its final position. > Unlock the vehicle. Close the windows with the rocker switches in the center console. Re-Iock the vehicle if necessary.
  2. Went to put my top up by unlocking the door - and holding the key in the unlock position. I hear a click - then nothing. Top goes down via key in door and the rocker switch works in both directions. Any thoughts? Makes me nutz. Thanks! -LLD
  3. Car has sat for more then 4 weeks - I think the cold was the final srtaw. Obvious I should have had a battery tender on it - so I think the battery is still viable - just sat too long.
  4. 2003 996 C2 Cabriolet Car has 3k miles. Battery dead - very little juice - barely enough to light the dash. Live in NJ - temperature is in the 20's (F) - car is parked in a single car garage. 1. What is the best way to bring the OEM battery back to normal operation? 2. How concerned do I need to be about temperatures being below freezing - where as the manual says do not try and charge a frozen battery? 3. Do I need to remove the tops to the fuel cells? 4. Any thoughts on the Porsche Battery Maintainer? Heard there is a NEWER version - Porsche Battery Maintainer/Charge-O-Mat II? Any thoughts? Will these work to bring the battery back? I am little skittish - don't want to fry anything - and I don't want to replace the battery. Lookin' to be spoon-fed direction - want to get on this right away! Thanks!
  5. I have it at home - I will SCAN the article tonite and post it!
  6. In a recent "newsletter" from Ray Catena - there was a featured article highlighting Porsche's new cell phone solution. Supposedly, the system integrates seamlessly with 911's 01 and later - whether on Analog or Fiber - Bose or without Bose. I am having trouble getting an accurate cost for the "total" system - and the additional cost to install. It appears from the one photo I have seen - the bump out from the cental panel (the piece the cradle attaches to) is black - is it possible to get in savannah beige?? Should I wait till the dealership has installed a few of these already? I am a little concerned that a first time install may wind up giving me problems down the road. I have my heart set on this system - the ability to simply swap the handset cradle everytime you update/change your phone is a great, great solution. It also mutes the radio - integrates a well hidden microphone and antenna - and uses the passenger speaker for reception. I need to know what the total cost to purchase and install? I need to know if I should wait or go to another dealership other then Ray Catena? I need to know if the bump-out comes in savannah-beige? Just and FYI - I plan on having a short-shift installed at the same time. Thanks for all your help.
  7. I have something like that in my garage - already. I was thinking more like the green item - to protect the bumpers. SEE ATTACHED! Thanks! -LLD
  8. I was reloading and going through the "random factory pictures" and noticed that in many of them that semi-finished Porsche's had highly colorful rubber mats protecting the bumpers and sides. Having been through the nightmare of getting "tapped" in my last P-car - I was wondering if Porsche sells those mats for those interested in protecting the car in a garage or parking lot. Just a thought! -LLD "Larry"
