  1. Last days I felt my car was not as strong as before...today I logged boost and saw almost 0,4bar below max boost....Also code p0299 is there...do i leak air from somewhere?Maybe wastegate rods are stuck?Opinions?
  2. Hello there guys...About two months ago I bought PET from PorscheLibrarian...Everything was ok, he was paid and send me the files...After about a week or so I ordered and paid POSES but he never got back to me...He did not answer my mails regarding this matter although he took my money...Loren tried to help (as always, thank you Loren) with no result...
  3. thank you again Loren for your time to answer me...the noise is for about half second...i thought of it this morning. It happened same time when i changed a coolant hose that was leaking (you might be aware that 997TT have a failure at pressurised coolant hoses near the thermostat assembly...)in order to change these hoses, oil filter base had to be removed.probably sealant had failed allowing air to enter oil filter housing after a few days...the noise is the same when we start the car after we ve changed filter for a second, until oil is pressurised again in filter...
  4. thank you loren...but what is your opinon on that matter?
  5. Hello there...i bought my car with 23500km...Previous owner used mobil1 0/40 until 20000km (he changer them at 7,14)and then replaced them with redline 5/40...i switched back to mobil at 26000km,two weeks ago...The problem is tha when i start the car after a few days of garage sitting it makes a horrible noise (probably from lifters?)such as there is no oil for about 1/3 of a second and then oil pressure goes up and the noise stops...engine is running fine...With redline this noise did not happen...any ideas? P.S. the car has almost no oil consumption...this happens only when car is parked for a few days...
  6. Thank you...but i believe that the leak starts from the left upper side of the engine...possibly from the front end that is not visible...any known hose that fails there?
  7. Hello there guys...Last month i saw a very small leakage of coolant located at upper left part of the engine...three days ago (just after exhaust installation) leakage got bigger...now the left part of the exhaust has spots of coolant...any ideas?
  8. Loren,if somebody becomes a contributing member,is there a way to download a service manual (pdf probably) for a 997TT?
  9. Hello there guys...I am about to give my spare set of front and rear brakes (disks and calipers) to a friend having a boxster 987,not S...Can they be installed?
  10. Thank you...Your explanation was perfect...
  11. loren, these ranges are car or rpm related?i mean does range 1 corresponds to same rpm range for e.g. a 997TT and 997Gt3?my car is 997TT tip and so there is no possibility to over rev it...i have range1,2 and 4 ignitions at range 3....How do you explain it?
  12. Hello there guys...I am experiencing some troubles with PSM...It flashes and code is 4206,front left speed sensor...I replaced it but the code is still there from time to time...any ideas?First sensor was "short circuited to ground" while second sensor was signal implausible...Is there a polarity to sensor connector? The car might run ok for 200miles and then suddenly PSM/ABS is on...Help please...
  13. Hello there...I am trying to find part no of inverter of the illuminated door sill...One of them is gone...any help?
  14. next days my friend will bring again the car to read again the codes and to discuss what to do...i might need some help then...
  15. Thank you guys...i did a reset but it comes again...(there is no cel just the car wont start easy from time to time...)
  16. Hello there guys...My best friends 996TT from time to time refuses to start without pressing the throttle...When i plugged my PIWIS i read P0012 (camshaft position with respect to crankshaft bank 1) and P1349 (camshaft adjustment bank1) codes...Could it be just the sensor of the bank 1 set of camshafts?Any ideas?Car is running fine otherwise...just rarely a little rough idle last days when codes occured...
  17. Loren,as you might remember i had an oil pressure issue lasr week as well at my brothers 996C2 My02...Neither PIWIS nor Dyrametric have the feature to show oil pressure as a real time value so to check for errors...The only way was to bolt a mechanical gauge where sender is bolted... when engine is cold pressure is high...idles at 3 bar and shows 5 at cruising...When hot it should idle from 1,3 to 1,6 bar and cruise from 3,8 to 4,5bar...99% or oil pressure problems are related to bad sending units, corroded wires and/or faulty gauge in dashboard...I found it the hard way after spending two days doing everything possible to determine the fault...However you should not worry about high pressure...Engine has a relief valve set at 6bar so there is no way you can break something due to high pressure...so far,no one has comment on a faulty relief valve...
  18. Thats why companies like FVD offer custom PSS10 for our cars...
  19. Guys...problem solved...Well actually it seems that there was no problem with the engine...As i stated i replaced VDO sender unit and then started worrying about engine internal damage...Finally i added a mechanical gauge to measure oil pressure and to my surprise it is 1,5bar at idle even very hot...Also when i rev the car at 3000rpm it goes at 4,8 to 5 bar while in dash it shows only 3,7bar...So obviously there is something wrong with wires or gauge of oil pressure...What a relief to find out engine is ok...
  20. thank you...tomorrow i will change oil and filter and try to find what the problem is...If the engine had a major problem, shoud i have any warnings?check engine, rattle, etc?
  21. In my car i have pss10 tailored to my needs...However because of two wasted months i spent trying to set up PSS10 properly at GT2 ride height i would suggest you to go for the X73...It is designed from Porsche engineers and it is for sure better for all around use...On the other hand if you track the car go for a coilover setup...Just remember pss10 is not designed for lowering the car over half inch...(only 5,5cm spring travel from end to end...) P.S. X73 comes with sport motor mounts...thats a plus...
  22. Almost every 996TT does a rattling sound at idle...It should go away above 1000rpm...If this is the case nothing to worry...However i can not tell whether this sound comes from left or right side...So if the sound you hear is focused on one side...it might be something else...
