  1. You are the man! Board should be called LORENTECH.ORG Thanks again. Joe
  2. Page 76 of the MY03 Boxster Owners Manual Loren you are the man. Much thanks.. Any idea why the alarm is blinking 21 times before it sets? Joe
  3. Seems I missed counted. The alarm light blinks 21 times before it sets. Anyone?
  4. Need some help. '03 Boxster. Pulled into my Garage just now. Remembered i wanted to sweep the garage floor. Pulled the car back out of the garage and noticed there is a timer on the display counting down from 60 mins. Currently at 52:33 on the way to zero. Also when I turned the alarm on just now to come inside and pled for help the red alarm light on the dash blinked 7 times before it started to do it reg flash every 2 secinds or so. Has never done that before or at least I have never noticed it. Anyone now what the deal is? Is my car about to explode? Thanks, Joe.
  5. Those are the factory/stock speakers. I replaced them in mine with the Focal Kevlar series. Same speakers in the factory door box's and then MB Quart Ref's in the front. With the factory Becker head unit and amp it sounds decent. 100% better then it was. Have ordered 2 new JL Audio amps and a new Nakamichi deck to make it sound even better. did you just replace the woofers in the box, what were the impedance please mate. cheers steve Yes. I reused the factory box. They fit right in. Bolt/screw holes lined up like perfect. I had to make blanks to mount the tweeters to as thefactory tweeters have the bolt holes built into the frame of the speakers. the blankswere nothing more then a kevlar look plastic cover I had for an old C.A.I.. Cut it to fit. Snaded the edges. Easy, Easy.
  6. which Nak deck did you get? CD-400/500/700-II? i picked up a CD-500 about a month ago and it crapped out on me. i kept getting disc errors with any disc that i played (brand new discs, burned CDs, etc.) it's sitting here in a box ready to be shipped back for replacement. i did a lot of research on the Nak decks before i bought one and read that while the sound quality is top-notch, the build quality is less-than-stellar. something to do with them being built in Malaysia now, as opposed to Japan. the only Nak deck that i personally wouldn't buy is the CD-300 which has a 1-bit Digital/Analog Converter (IIRC), compared to the 24-bit DAC in the CD-400/500/700-IIs. Used the 400. I had heard about the qaulity issues but I really like the almost factory look without all the crap new radios have. Organic display, ect. Plus it has a warranty..Can always send it back.

  8. i'm going to estimate that it's 10" wide and 4" high (the speaker). it fits in the section under the rollbar (where the storage shelf is) and it doesn't take up the whole length of the rear shelf, just the middle part. i don't know how deep it is... but i hope Thomas will post back to tell us how it sounds. FYI.. There are two 5.25" subs (more like mid bass drivers then woofers) along with two 1" tweeters. Spend the money on something else. I loaded the factory bose box with 5.25" FOCAL components. Is like night and day. Joe
  9. Had the ZR rated Nexan installed a few weeks ago. Have only put 50 miles or so on them, but the few times it has been on the street I have run it out at 120-130 MPH and the held together nice. No floating feel. No sliding effect. All in all not a bad tire. Joe
  10. I know is frustrating when no one replys. I don't have the answer to your question, but if you send PM to Loren or Toolpants I bet they can answer. Joe
  11. Hi. Pretty sure I read a TSB about that. Contribute the $25 and you can see for yourself. It's well worth the money. Many other interesting things along with the specific TSB you need. Joe
  12. Had thought of that White. But after researching speed ratings along with wear and temp limits, seems to me a tire is a tire. A tire with AA traction is a tire with AA traction. Good year or BF Goodrich. The ratings don't lie. The wear rating for the exact Nexxen tire I am looking at is actually higher then all the "name brand" tires I have found. As I said before. A tire is a tire.. Thanks..
  13. Hey Chris. You mention "pairs" in your reply. From what I have read all you need is the adapter itself. What do you mean by pair? Thanks, Joe.
  14. Hey thanks for the reply. Is hard to justify spending 11 or 1200 dollars on tires for the amount of use the car gets. Joe
  15. Hi Joe, MY02 with just over 50 K miles had Nexen's put on about 600 miles ago. I use it to pick up the kids in the evenings and short drives around the city. They handle quite well both on city streets as well as the highway. Very quite and smooth. Sharp fast turns ( PSM kicking in ) so far leave me without suprise. I would get them again when the time comes.
  16. Bringing back the dead here... Where did you find the adapter? Thanks, Joe
  17. Anyone deal with Nexen tires? Thinking of putting 19's on MY03. From what I have read they are a decent tire and a whole lot cheaper then anything even close to the tread life/ traction and temp. Just an idea. It is MY03 with 6100 miles. Thats how much she is driven. No track days. Just putting around town on weekends. Thanks, Joe
  18. Hey All.. After 20 mins of searching my eyes hurt. Anyone know where I can get a set of CDR23 removal keys/tools at? Thanks, Joe
  19. In the event anyone is still keeping up with this thread.. I talked with the owner of the local stereo install shop in town. He made a few calls and has been told that removing the factory head unit and amp should not hurt the computer.Nothing left to do but do it. Will post the out come.. Joe
  20. Thanks Andy. Only question I still have is... What will this do to the computer/ECU of the vehicle. I have read that it will make many error codes and such. That I have to go to the dealer and have the stereo system "turned off" in the vehicle computer. Then on another forum I have read that it is no big deal to change things out. In fact I think I saw a wiring diagram for the speaker wires, hot, memory and ground somewhere. Any Ideas? Thanks Joe.
  21. You are correct Carlson. The F/O cable simplr connects the head unit/amp/cd changer/phone together. I had the rear shelf box out yesterday afternoon. It is loaded with 5.25" woofers and 1' tweeters. I didn't think to look at the Ohm resistnace, but I will check aorund a little more. Thanks for the info..
  22. Okay. After more research it seems the speakers ARE not connected by any F/O wires. They are connected by regular speaker wire. So this is a plus as I may not be able to change out the head unit but I can up grade the speakers. Now to research the Amp...
  23. No one has any info/ideas? I can't get the stealership to pony up, no one I know knows anything. I just don't want to mess up the ECM/Computer. Joe
  24. Can get them off ebay. Think I paid 4.99$ U.S for 6. Guy gives you six, two extra just in case.
  25. No I didn't sand it first. Not sure I have anything strong enough to bite into the finish of the steele used on the caliper. Will look around and see what I have. After spending 2 hours masking/taping things off, all the hoses, zerberts, bolts and under carriage not sure I have the set to try again right now. Sounds like a weekend project. Thanks, Joe
