  1. And the torx screws here-- looks like there are supposed to be different ones in different places?
  2. Success! No pictures yet, I have one more hole to get right. I was also able to trim the factory crash bar so that it fits over the top of the hitch. This seems like a better solution than the “stock” process that removes it. Which means I like the cayenne hitch better, actually!
  3. Hello, all! Sorry for a trivial one, I’m still learning my way around the Porsche books… There are 5 aluminum screws holding the “shear panel” under the engine, and several different torx stews that hold the underbody cover on below that. I’m missing a few of each. What are the right names for these things in the parts catalog? thanks!
  4. I did some poking around and took ballpark measurements off of a bunch of photographs, and I believe I have a solution. The stealth hitch for a Cayenne is a pretty close match to the 970. Since the stealth hitches for these applications replace the factory aluminum crash bar/reinforcement behind the number cover, you really don’t have to do much to adapt it. Both the (now unobtanium) Panamera Stealth Hitch and the Cayenne model fit in the space under there just fine. The bolt patterns are different, so I’ll have to drill some new holes in the hitch to match the 970 bumper mount, and there are a couple of other bits to deal with. I’ll take some pictures as I go and post the process. I dry fit everything tonight and I’m pretty pleased. FYI, as of today there is exactly one 971 hitch at eTrailer.com, and that seems to be the only and last Stealth Hitch made for any Panamera. I’m now pretty sure that it would fit under the cover just fine, and it *might* match the bolt pattern for our 970. It “looks right” but I couldn’t get any measurements from the manufacturer to confirm. If the holes are right, it will be easier to adapt than what I’m doing. Not knowing that before, I went with this other one and it’s going to work out fine.
  5. Hello, all! I’m looking for a receiver hitch that I can use to fit a bike rack to my Panamera. Does such a thing exist? I’ve seen offers for the 971, but not the 970.
  6. Hello! Do you know the torque for the 13mm bolts on the brace? Or is this a case of “make it tight”?
