Can you double check this tool part number. 3 parts guys at my dealer cannot find it in the computer. So today I went to my dealer and had the shop foreman who is the 997 PCA tech advisor look for it and he could not find it either. And how about a picture of the tool like this so I can see what it looks like. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The tool is identical to the two in the picture above except it is blue. The part number I gave is the only number on the tool.

Looks like you might be a victim of someone pulling the wrong part number somewhere along the line. 997.424.383.00 is very close to 997.424.983.00, which is want you ordered. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yes, it is straightened out now. The correct part is on the way. Thanks

I have received the telephone module kit for option p666 and am having it installed next week. But, I want to know the labor allocation for the install. I would download the TSB myself and look at the last page for the amount, but this TSB is not available on the renntech site for some reason. I have a copy of the TSB, but I am missing the last page that has the total TU for install. Can someone please forward a TSB to me or post the last page online? The TSB I have says 911(997) 2/05 9155 Telephone Module (Option P666). Thanks Also how does a TU translate into hours? is 120 TUs, 2 hours or 1.2 hours?

997.424.383.00 is embossed on the tool itself

The part came in a package with the 997 424 983 00 number on the front. But in reality it is a blue tool that effectively locks the shift in neutral for proper alignment of the stick shift. I remember hearing about one of these when I did the work on my 996, but then I didn't have the tool so I just marked the cables. This definitely can't be the short shifter. I have a picture from a parts manual that calls this blue piece part 9619

Can someone please help me with the correct part number & a description for a short-shift kit for my 997S. I ordered one from Suncoast along with other parts and they sent me a very small blue bracket. I know the B&M short shifter on my 996 was a completely different assembly. I assume that the short shift for the 997 is more than a blue bracket for $400+??

I ordered the part #s listed above, but I just emailed Jeff at Sunset Imports & told him that I definitely want to make sure I get all of the associated equipment (wiring harnesses, etc.) . I ordered nav as well, based on the part #s in the TSB for the Nav retrofit, but I didn't order all of the associated little parts & wires. I have only seen one Navigation module (997.044.900.70) & telephone module (997 044 900 71). How do you know if this is the complete kit or just the individual part? I have to say, I think these must be "kit" #s, as someone on rennlist just posted the part #s used in his Nav retro fit, and the nav module # is not the same as the above. If there is a different # for the complete kit, please advise.

997 044 900 71 Telephone Module PCM2 I am planning on using the GSM SIM drawer installed in the car & Installing the phone module & correct optical wave guide. I have read on other forums that there are 400+ time units necessary for install, thus the reason I was inquiring as to the availability of any documentations relating to the install. I notice the DVD NAV TSB requires many other parts than the optical cable & nav unit and am not sure if I drop the phone module & cable off at my dealer that they will have any clue what to do with them or what other parts are necessary to fit the option.

I recently ordered these parts to add the phone option to my new 997 S Cab. My car has the Bose sound System & the cd changer, is this the cable I need? "997 622 703 00 Optical Waveguide w/ BOSE Sound System" Or is there a third cable that was not listed above? Is there a TSB on this phone module? My dealer didn't even know that such a part existed or was possible to order. I just want to make sure when I bring them the parts, they know what to do to put them in. There must be some sort of installation instructions somewhere? Thanks

Help With Horseshoe

Thanks so much, that thing is horrible. I was able to get the silver piece (lighter assembly) out of the light cover by slightly bending the lighter assembly where the clear plastic tabs hold it in place (using needle nose pliers). I think this piece was intended for one way travel (kind of like the bushings and retaining collars on the Porsche Shifter). No wonder I couldn't get this thing out looking at the diagram though, it is completely missleading. It implies you just "pop" it out "no problem." I think the clear plastic (light surround) will come out pretty easily now. Thanks, Anthony By the way, Toolpants your DVD was invaluable in helping me replace my shifter, center console, and emergency brake in just 1:40 minutes. It would have been much faster if you didn't have to move all the retaining hardware from one center console to the other. Removing this lighter has taken longer than all of the other stuff combined. -
Hello, I am in dire need of assistance. I read the post about replacing the horseshoe and have gotten all the thing out, but I am unable to remove the cigarette lighter. I saw the diagram for removing it and have taken off the black piece and the green piece (A &B), but I still can't get out the lighter. Has anyone done this? Can you please give me a little more assistance than the diagram on the forum. Anthony
