  1. I need to confirm the front bumper part number for the new style (2003) AerokitII. This is what I have and want to ensure that it's the right one before the order is placed. 996-505-983-02-G2X - Aero Kit II/GT3 front spoiler Sound correct? I'm totally jazzed, my baby will have a nose to match her booty and side skirts!! Robyn :help:
  2. I've found the steering on the Boxster compared to my 996 to be different as well. The Boxster feels more tight, precise making the 996 seem sloppy almost (comparatively). The cars are different and we can't expect them to drive the same. There is a weight difference from the Boxster to the 996 in the front, unsure if that has anything to do with it. I've always appreciated the steering ability of the Boxster... :drive:
  3. Thank you Loren for taking time out of your Saturday to help me with the shift exchange between Colm's car and mine! I just love the shifter and didn't realize how much I missed it from the days of my Boxster. Thankfully no rain, until we took off for home...and it rained the entire way. Of course, my car seems to like to test my patience. On the way home, I turned the headlight washers on...and the little oval plastic peice that covers the washer flew off and hit the windshield. :cursing: Unbelievable! (An no comments from you Kirby! :P ) No damage to the windshield. But it would seem I can't go a few months without seeing the dealer for some reason or another. And Colm, thank you for your generous exchange! The community we have all built together of giving, kind Porsche owners never ceases to amaze me! :notworthy: :king: I owe you both a beer! Robyn
  4. Thanks everyone! Costas - I had a feeling I could go 295, but not anything bigger. Conti makes a 295/30/18 it's just not N rated I believe. Still looking into it. I had funnnnnnnnnnnnnn in the rain today. PSM and I were best friends. Nothing like a nice power slide around a corner! Woohooooo. In all seriousness, I have maybe another 1000 miles left on these rears and I think I'll start to see steel belts. My camber is set pretty high on the negative side and I just went through these tires simply because of that. However, I have to say, to get 16000 miles on Conti SC2's is impressive. My last set was 12k and they were toast. I am looking forward to changing these all around. I wish Yokohama made a tire for me to put on the car in the right size. Loved those on my Boxster. Robyn
  5. I currently have a 2003 996 with Carrera 18" wheels. I am badly in need of rear tires for my car and since my fronts still look brand new, I am going to replace just the rears for now. I have Continential Sport Contact 2's. (Which I hate) I'd like to know if I can put 295's on this car? Thanks in advance. Robyn :help:
  6. Tp, I sent you an email, unsure if you rec'd it. Please let me know? Thanks much! Happy Thanksgiving! Robyn
  7. :P hehe! Sorry Kirby, couldn't resist! :o Hey...who's SY car is that?? Oh that's right, it's mine! :clapping: Geez Jeff...you forget so soon! Thanks! :P
  8. :help: I'm looking for some DIY instructions on this surgery to my 03 C2. It looks to be quite simple and bolt on, but I'll be doing this myself and it would make me feel a bit better about the job if I had some instructions to fall back on. :wrench:  Thanks in advance! Robyn Hey Loren - missed you on the drive last weekend!! :drive:
  9. Wow! Thanks Loren. This is so far (so good) the only thing I have noticed. The squeak is driving me crazy!
  10. Thanks for response Craig - to provide a few more details. Picked the car up from it's valve adjustment and when I got in her, I depressed the clutch. All was quiet. As I released the clutch (car not in gear or moving at this point), what I heard was a clang/clunk from the rear of the car. This continued each time I released the clutch even while traveling at any speed. So, it was pretty loud considering I was listening to that wonderful air cooled engine in my ear. I couldn't really "feel" in the clutch pedal, it was more a sound. This was not occuring prior to the visit to the shop to have the valve adjustment. I bought the car used and it has about 140k on the odo. Clutch still feels strong.
  11. Hi there, I have an 88 that I picked up from a valve job last evening. I noted for the first time a clunk when I released the clutch pedal. Didn't happen when I depressed. Any thoughts? 88 Targa 3.2L
