  1. i got kumho exsta asx, all seasons, and my GFs brother uses them as his winter tires on his stang, with about 5-6 seasons on them, still fine and no getting stuck either.

and to be honest, they are very cheap and handle really good on dry, i love them. i use them all year round. i got them for my 18s, but for 16s they will probably be cheap too, er cheaper

  2. Let's not confuse two separate issues here.

It is involved and complicated to remove the convertible top from the frame and install another.

It is quick and easy to remove the convertible top with the frame and to reinstall it.

The people that are having problems are universally trying to do the former, not the latter.

    yes, good point.

i just want to replace the plastic window, not the top itself

  3. resolve the issue.

this morning i had nothing to do since it was raining so i was in garage.

took the top off, took the latch out, and went to work.

turns out that the spindle and the handle had to be pushed in all the way together, and there is a hole there and a pin goes trough it.

the pin broke off, so there was 3 different pieces of it inside there.

took everything out, lined it up, and put a new 'pin', actually a thick nail kinda pin, and its jammed in there pretty good and will not go anywhere for sure.

put everything back together, just tied the bolts and latched it, no adjusting, sits so flush its not even funny, i cant believe how bad it was before.

now both sides looks good, and its really tight, took it for a drive, and MUCH improvement, no wind noise or weird sounds.

    success.

thx pk2 for the offer and PM but got it working.

  4. hi.

i noticed that the passinger side latch is acting upp.

today i was driving and noticed some strange wind blowing, look to the right and the latch is completely open and loose.

got home, looked at it, and it seems that when i latch it up, the bottom part is actually not moving, meaning it doesnt latch up even though the handle is turned all the way and looks latched.

anyone know how i can fix this or any replacement parts?

btw, then the top is off and i turn the handle, the parts move, but any pressure put on the mechanism results in parts not moving (not turning).

    any help is appreciated.

    thx

  5. hi,

filled up gas last other night, drove home,it was maybe a mile drive, parked the car and didn't drive it for a day. then a day later the code came, i cleared it, double checked that the gas cap is closed, and didn't come back again.

does it pretty much mean that its gone, or might it show up again.

i drove approximately 30 miles or so with no light back on.

    thx in advance...

  6. i just got my new wheels, something got screwed up with the tires so still waiting to put them on.

then there was a problem and i need a 25mm spacer in the back as well....that will be here in about a week and a half.

what would you guys suggest i tell the shop? anything in particular?

im going from 17s to 18s, they are 8.5 front and 10 back (well technically the width of the rear ones is 11 so thats whats causing the spacer issue)

i will be putting 225/40/17 front and 275/40/18 back.

btw, this is on a stock suspension on a 98 2.5

    thx in advance

  7. ok so i have removed my headlights quite a few times, so i know how they come off and what to do.

BUT...today, the passenger side will not budge; i have no idea what is going on.

i managed to take the little triangle off and look in there....will i be able to do anything to that "thick wire part" that holds it in once it clicks in with the tool?

im thinking getting something to pull/push on it....

Anyone ever try to "steal their own headlight" before? hehe :P :o

i dont know what to do anymore, i tried with the tool a few times and it just isnt doing much.

thx in advance, any advice pertaining to this is appreciated.

  8. i bought the MAF from them, came in within 2 days.

    GREAT NEWS!

put the new MAF, reset the ECU, and the car feels better than ever.

i would like to say that i gained HP, but the fact of the matter is car probably got the power back hehe, love the feel, absolutely no hesitation when gas pedal is pushed, car responds great.

thx for your help guys, i know this forum saved me money, and i bet thats the case for a lot of people here, love it.
