  1. Thanks JFP. At least it is nothing to worry about right now.
  2. Hi All' I just changed out the battery on my 2001 C4. Everything is working fine except this light by the clock. I have looked in the owners manual and don't see anything listed there for a warning light in this area. So, could someone help me out and let me know what the light is indicating. Sorry for the quality of the picture. Thanks
  3. I want to give a big thanks to the Porschelibrarian for his help this week. I use a old laptop in the garage and of course the the hard drive crashed and I lost my PET and manuals that I had purchase a couple years back. I did keep a backup of the software and of course I could not find the CD. So, I emailed Porschelibrarian and ask if there was anything he could do for me. He sent me another copy of the software and I am up and running. I would recommend the software and Porschelibrarian. The software has really helped me out in maintaining my Porche and finding the right part number. It has save my butt a couple of times and well worth the price of admission. Thanks Porschelibrarian :thankyou:
  4. I too would like to thank Loren all the members of Renntech. This site has always been informative and has allowed me to maintain my Porsche and save money. Thanks to you all and Happy New Year :thankyou: :renntech:
  5. I changed my tubes last night. I had one the cracked and I cant account for a piece of plastic 1/8 of a inch around. Besides changing the oil what else should I do. Should I be worried that the plastic could be in the motor?
  6. There is a link under documents at the top of the page or http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?a...ode=vin_decoder Search would help you too.
  7. Do you need to change the coils with the spark plugs? And if not how do you know when they need to be changed. I am going to be doing my 30,000 mile service and wondering if I need to get the coils. Thanks
  8. I use the Black one and have not had any problems. It makes it easier for me to take the used oil to the recycler.
  9. I too want to thank Loren and the other contributors for all their insight and help. Renntech has made my P-Car experience a better one. You have saved me money and time. Thanks to you all. :renntech:
  10. Our fuel in Colorado in the winter has 10% ethanol and I havent had any problems. I use only Shell in all my cars.
  11. haha....Did you remove the wheels and raise the car? I was too lazy and removed the bumper without jacking and wheel removal..... No I was lazy and left the wheels on. I think it would have been easier to remove the bumper with the wheels off and I will do it that way next time. How many of the plastic rivets did you break. I broke two and was glad I order replacements before I started which was suggested here on the boards. :renntech:
  12. I decided to clean the radiators on my 2001 C4 today. It took awhile but really worth the effort. I was amazed at the amount of stuff that was in the radiators. I found a dead bird in one side. I have included pictures of the junk from the radiators. I would recommend cleaning your radiators it is not too difficult and has to be good for the car.
  13. I recently replaced the battery in my MY 2001 C4. When I took the battery cover (PN 996 572 567 01) off I notice one side was loose and white plastic part was broken and needed to be replaced. So about a week ago I tried to find the part number but couldn't. I went to my local Porsche dealer and they order the part. Well needless to say they did not order the right part. Does anyone know what the part number is for the white plastic part is. Here is a picture of the part and the screw the goes in it. Thanks
  14. Try 8378 or 8380 :renntech: Thanks Loren the second code worked Thanks again
  15. I replaced my battery today and dont have the code for the radio of course so I could use the code. 01 C4 4462 serial #Y5052199 Thanks
  16. Hello all My coolant tank had a crack in it and has been replaced. No more coolant leaks or smell. Thanks for your help. :jump:
  17. Thanks I am getting a new coolant tank and will let you know how that worked. Thanks Again
  18. I was having a coolant leak with my 2001 996 C4 on the driver's side exhaust tip. I had a '00' part number cap and replaced it with the '01' part number cap. I went for a drive and parked the pcar in the garage. I just went out to get the mail through the garage and noticed I still have a coolant link. The leak does not appear to becoming from the overflow hose coming out of where the cap is located. I had the coolant system pressure checked today when I got the oil changed and it was fine. Any ideas on what is going on? :renntech:
