  1. We have the 1.4 update for the last 6 months or so. Also have had two replacement PCM modules. Problem of rebooting, which was the orginal complaint still occurs, abet with much less frequency. Seems to relate to the system heat soaking, ie shut off vehicle after a reasonable run for 1/2 hour so. The system then does the reboot thing with some repeativeness. Also happens when the bluetooth connected iPhone experience a weak cell signal. Don't undertand that corrolation. Hope this helps.
  2. I had the same issue and almost missed a wedding. At least with the new upgrade Bluetooth is working 100%. I do get complaints however that I am a bit distorted. Never had that before the last update to 3.104.
  3. I will be able to report more tomorrow. Car on way back from dealer with the 1.4 upgrade. Will try with my Blackberry Bold and Razr2
  4. I have a 2009 with Bluetooth and IPod interface from factory. The IPod works flawless. I had third party on 997 and this is far better. The Blutooth is another story. Always disconnects on first call when you use a turn signal. Porsche has promised a fix since the fall. I am not holding my breath.
  5. My PCM3 (Second one) in 2009 GTS (PCM version 1.1) has started to fail for the second time. Symptom is the PCM reboots every ten minutes or so when following NAV route and wipers are set on rain sensing with light rain falling. Also bluetooth disconnects randomly without warning (no wipers for this failure) Porsche has said they will have a software fix mid to late Jan. I am thinking of pushing a lemon law case. Opinions would be cheriched Richard
  6. Please note that the unit in 2009 GTS failed after 1,600 miles and 45 days. It started rebooting itself every 2-5 minutes when on a route and heading South. Who knows?????
  7. Our Driver's door outside mirro appears to be devolping some "halos" after the first 4 weeks of ownership. most noticible at nite. We have tried denatured alchohol to clean. (which has helped considerably). Suggestions would be appreciated as we are about 100 miles or so from the dealer. Regards Richard
  8. Just took delivery on 2009 GTS with factory installed hitch. No sweat installing Ball. Problem is electric; if I remove the square plastic cover held by 4 screws the whole connector assembly comes loose. What am I doing wrong? Thank you Richard
  9. Just took delivery on 2009 GTS with Ipod and bluetooth already installed. Saved me two days of hassle having then added as I did in my 997 and the difference net was 5K. I will more than make it up two years from now on value difference.( BluebooK). Also new NAV is far more user friendly Richard
  10. I have a K40 systems in 997 and V1s in all our others cars. We have a new GTS being delivered this week and my question is simple. What should I put in the GTS? We are 70% Florida small city town driving and balance I95 and I4 interstates. We heard the new redlight cams are coming to our area. My daughter has managed to collect four DC stationary camera based speeding tickets and she has a V1. Thank you Richard
  11. We have a 2009 GTS due to be delivered in the next week. It has factory NAV, bluetooth, Sat radio and universal audio adapter already installed. I would like to just add rear camera. Any suggestions? Thank you Richard
  12. We are looking to by a 2009 GTS, the one we want has NAV but no bluetooth. Porsche says update will be in the spring to add. (can order with for 695) Does anyone know if it can be had now? Thank you Richard
  13. I had the upgrade installed today at Porsche of Orlando. Kit cost about $325 (PCA price) and install (Update) about 1/2 hour. It comes with a new data DVD and 3 upgrade DVDs which have to be installed with a shop tester. Instructions (mutlilanguage) are 16 or so pages. I do not see yet any real differences other than the route planner function. Nothing evident about real time traffic. My wife has that in her LExus LS460 and it works great. My car is a 2007 Cab S with NAV and Sirius radio (from Cayenne). Also have Dension IPod dock, Mod4 kit from Whilhemy and Parrot 3100 Blue Tooth kit. More to follow once we get some time on it. The maps do appear faster, yet address sometimes are off. My office address shows about 1/4 mile from actual location. Main roads are great Regards Richard
  14. We installed our Dension in February. Works quite well except we do not show the playlists?? Also today we notice that there seems to be a newer model as of 3 13 07 on the Dension web site. Does anyone have any info on this? Regards Richard
  15. With a new unit from Dension (thanks to our installer who stocks them) and plugging it to the NAV head first, seems to work OK with no PWIS reprogramming. I have yet to try Customizing the Dension. I do notice that an apostrophe shows as a comma on the NAV (which is no big deal). Other than that with about 4 hours of use, quite happy, though I do wish now I had opted for Bose however. Regards Richard 2007 997C2S Cab with NAV, Smartop, Sat Radio (Cayenne) and now Dension IPod
  16. carrying on the thread of the original install, I'm still having difficulties getting a stable system. I have tried connections at two points in the MOST ring: 1. CD - this allows control of the iPod, but drops the Telephone and the NAV system most of the time, and the PCM seems to spend alot of time trying to re-establish the connections. 2. NAV - this provides a stable system, but no access to the iPod! I have Dension testing my config. (MY05 PCM, Bose, NAV, GSM, latest 80GB iPod) but haven't had any feedback yet. I would be interested to know if anyone else has had similar difficulties? Thanks Nick We have PCM, NAV, latest Gen2 Nano with 1.1.1 firmware and SmartTOP on 2007 C2S and having similar issue with Gateway 500. We updated the Gateway to version 1.0 Firmware at Dension recommendation and it still intermittantly appears. Working with them to do a swap out. We cannot reliably get the Dension to show its splash screen on the NANO with only the NANO and the Gateway connected?? Regards Richard
  17. Thank you Order the dianostic software package reomended by Loren and will check that area as we did have the console off Regards Richard
  18. Loren Thank you Did pull the center console and had key in to set shifter. Where can one get the software mentioned? thank you Richard
  19. Hi, Just added the B&M short shift kit to my 997. Absolutely great. Also added the SmarTOP controller. Now the red AIR BAG warning lite stays on. Any ideas? Thank you and Happy Holidays Richard
  20. We mounted ours similarly last month using the Heavy Duty Gray 3M tape. Did have to cut the extra "ears" off of the Cayenne antenna. We do occasionaly get some drop out. Also we on occasion have "lost the Sat authorization". Seems to come back if we shut down car and re-cycle power. Regards Richard 2007 C2s
  21. Just followed these instructions for our install on new 997S C2 and went perfectly We did one change which was to eliminate all the unused wires Thank you Richard
  22. Thank you. Have a local Tech putting in the Cayenne Sat radio System for 1,100 and he quoted me 1,500 for the Telco PCM system. I decided to go with the Parrot BlueTooth instead. Dealer says you can only install the standard NAV and not Extended NAV after market. Oh-Well
  23. We are taking delivery of a new 997-S Cab early next week. Is it possible (and at what cost approx) to have dealer add extended navigation and PCM phone modules. Also has can we add seat heaters. This is a stock car and thus did have some of the features we wanted available. We plan to the Sirius using Cayenne method Thank you RennTech
