  1. it was for a coupe. thank you - appreciate the help. jorge
  2. i used Silicon grease that was purchsed at NAPA about 5 or 6 dollars for the tube.
  3. 1999 Porsche C2, I am looking for the part number for the door seals (the one that attaches to the body). thanks in advance jorge
  4. Apparently there has been a price hike. I just checked the same site and it's not $239... did you check with sunset?
  5. i used this procedure. it's for a boxster but 996 is the same. http://www.bombaydigital.com/boxster/projects/window/
  6. most likely the window is not dropping a bit when you open the door and gets stuck on the channel. had this problem on mine, replaced the window regulator. there is a procedure here http://www.bombaydigital.com/boxster/projects/window/ BTW, regulators are on sale at sunset porsche right now (link above) g/l
  7. just gotta say, the group on this BBS is much more mature than the group at 6 speed..........no personal attacks here if you happen to disagree.... kudos to you guys. jorge :renntech:
  8. Brian Can you give more details on where the ports located and how much pressure should be read?? thanks jorge Ports are located to the left of the battery, under the plastic cover. The refill kits (Autozone, NAPA, etc) have a built in gauge that shows correct pressure. If you have a lot of mileage on yours, get the "High Mileage" refill, it has a different oil booster. BTW, you DID realize this post was from 2006, right???!!!! yep sure did. mine started acting up recently and did a search. thanks for the help jorge
  9. Brian Can you give more details on where the ports located and how much pressure should be read?? thanks jorge
  10. I used a footwell light switch (most non-descript) for mine. mounted it on the open spot below PSM switch. Only functions not avail is the speed gong.
  11. I replaced my tach with a yellow one from Gemballa. Wasn't that bad (getting glue on gauge face was trickiest part). Everything worked fine afterwards......do agree that one must be very careful with this project. jorge
  12. From the DIY section. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=7059 i followed the direction given here......also dexterity is your friend. jorge
  13. Hi, I have a 99 c2 that did this for quite sometime until I cleaned out the throttle body with some carburettor cleaner. When warm and at idle, it would drop down to about 5-600 rpms and then gradually come back up to 900rpms. Very rarely it would stall, but once I gave the throttle body a clean out I've also noticed it fires up quicker and straight away settles into a solid idle right on 900rpms. You can get a DIY description on Rennlist where Orient Express and Cosmos explain it under a thread entitled "Correcting a lumpy or erratic Idle' or something to that effect. +1 on this one. I removed and cleaned my TB. This "fixed" erratic idle issue. Also with a TB cleaner moistened rag, wipe down the interior of the inake as much as possible.
  14. I replaced mine on the passenger side, symptom was window would not drop after pulling on door handle. Sunset had the best price ~190 i think. follow toolpant's link (bombay). Pretty straight forward and take your time. good luck.
  15. Nice and I agree, widebodies look better than Narrow. On the battery, if you will be replacing, go with an Optima battery. There is a DIY on this board.
  16. I got a fresh pair from msroadrace for 200. easy replacement. http://www.msroadrace.com/
  17. Loren Thanks for all that you and company do for the users of this board. I personally have gained much knowledge of porsches and completed many DIYs (great DIY sections. btw) Anyway, just sent ya $25........buy yourself a beer. jorge :renntech:
  18. I installed the K&N also, I did not use the K&N Filter.....I used an AEM Dryfilter (~$50). No oiling required with same or better performance than K&N. No MAF issues going on about 6 months. part number that will fit is AEM 21-204DK AEM Dryflow - 3.50" Short Neck 5" Element. I used speedfreaks.com but you can search for other sources.
  19. nice ride. now paint those calipers......red.
  20. anybody have the targa switch schematic readily available?? TIA
