To activate daylight running lights, you need to add a relay to relay box. Acquire part number 996.615.111.00. Insert this into spots S6 & S7 of the relay box.
But if you can't order the relay from your dealer, here is quick and dirty hack.
Can you tell me if the above part is just a plug in relay or does it need specific wiring.

I saw your note about turning the ignition on before removing the battery to avoid alarm problems. I have never heard of this. Can anyone tell me about this. Thanks

The fabric on my convertible top has separated from the arm the raises and lowers the top. The separation is located near the top of the back seat.
The top appears to be glued to the metal frame near the top of the back seat. There's a piece of fabric that is attached to the unglued piece by velcro.
Has anyone tried to reglue the top. If so, what did you use.
I have tried two sided tape with little luck.

The only difference among all gasolines is the additive that gets blended at the terminals.
Top tier gasoline certification requires an additive level that will not only prevent deposits forming on injectors, but will also clean existing deposits.
Just because a refiner supplies basic gasoline to an outlet does not mean that a top tier additive package has been included. In fact, additive injection levels as low cost gasoline suppliers almost never includes the premium additive package.
Trust me, I run a gasoline trading operation for a major oil company. I stick with the major brands, who I know include the premium additive package.

Any suggestions on a good cleaner for the rear plastic window on a 99 Boxster and 911?
Try Meguire's Cleaner and Polish for a thorough cleaning and Plexus for more regular cleaning.

Can anyone tell me where I can get a battery for my 996? I assume the dealer will charge an outrageous price.

I have a 2003 C2 Cabriolet. Recently I have been having difficulty getting the cover on the storage bin between the seats to remain shut.
Does anyone have a recommendation on what to do?
If this needs to be repaired will it be covered under warranty?
Thanks,
Jim

Headlights - both low and high bean
in 996 Series (Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera 4S, Targa)
Posted
All of a sudden my headlights - both low and high beams stopped working. When I pull back on the high beam lever to flash the high beams they work. However, just switching on the normal headlights does not cause them to come on. Similarly, when I push on the high beam lever to keep the high beams on, I get no high beams.
I checked the fuses and they all look OK. Any ideas on where to go next.
Thanks,
Jim
