  1. (60,000km on the odometer) Now the car is completely dead with no Interior lights anywhere. Car was sitting there with a charger on timer charging for maybe an hour per day for a month while I was on vacation. The CD/radio was making a clicking sound prior to and I thought the battery needs a boost to start after a month. Now nothing! Well almost nothing - behind the dash board there is some very weak clicking/sound. Thought I ask here first - before towing it to the Porsche dealership. ?
  2. Problem is fixed. Thought I can post my efforts here: http://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-cayenne-forum/748446-2004-porsche-cayenne-s-ignition-coil-defects.html
  3. Thought I do a follow up. I go the problem fixed and it is apparently a TSB / recall due to IMHO a manufacturing defect. See: http://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-cayenne-forum/748446-2004-porsche-cayenne-s-ignition-coil-defects.html Hope it helps.
  4. I only have error code 0307. see: http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/24374-need-help-2004-cayenne-s-cyl-5678-misfiring/?p=235737 Do I have "bad coil packs" or something else? What could it be?
  5. My 2004 Cayenne S seems to have the same problem. "Emission Control Warning Light (Check Engine)" light came on (steady on) for the second time - first time was January this year. It occurs on the same driving pattern and symptoms. After the first time, my mechanic replaced the spark plugs and swapped coils of cylinder 3 and 7 and the problem went away. The problem came back yesterday and here are the symptoms: 1. Begins with a cold start - or cold start then short trip (say under 15min driving) - then restart the car after engine turned off for about 45 minutes to 1 hour. My car is very low mileage.2. Lower engine idling revs with vibration.3. At city speeds the vibration would get worst as driving speed increases. Take it onto the highway it will vibrate more.4. "Emission Control Warning Light (Check Engine)" warning light would come on after that 1 hour pause when I am away from home shopping, etc.5. Cannot repeat the problem consistently.6. Replaced all 8 spark plugs and now the problem came back.7. Since day 1 I own this car, I have the "lurching from cold start" issue but never resolved or mentioned.8. Switching off and then switching on the PSM seems result in the PSM stuck electronically at off resulting in an increase in the gear change rev speed regardless if the PSM is off or on.Error Codes found:P0357 Ignition Coil Primary/SecondaryP0307 Cyclinder 7 Misfire Detected Same problem with the fuse? If so, which fuse in the fuse box to check? If not the same problem, what are the likely problems and is this a DIY with a professional mechanic or it has to be done at the dealer?
  6. Hi gang, My '04 C S smells like a rotten egg   and the smell seems to come from the left front wheel / tire area near the side marker light. Could this be freon leaking from the air conditioning unit or something? Will be speaking to the :cursing: dealer but may be I can ask here and get a more intelligent answer. :) Thanks.
  7. So the wire - item 10 - in the diagram is located somewhere inside the spoiler?? No?
  8. So which No. 8 and No. 9 items are the keyfob's antenna? None of the items seems to show an exact location. Selected all doors and horns already.
  9. Wingless, Do you know where is the keyfob remote's / door opening remote's antenna? Or, what is the "normal" distance I should expect for the remote? TIA :)
  10. Hi Loren, There are two item 8's? I did get slightly better range (like 3 more feet or so) after I repositioned the radio's antenna. Do you know what is the normal range of the keyfob remote? Again, I do not have Porsche Entry and Drive. Thanks.
  11. No, I do not have Porsche Entry and Drive. I just wanted to get a better range with my keyfob remote. :D :P
  12. So, which one is the remote's antenna? :help: I do not have Porsche Entry and Drive. :D
  13. Dear all, I just opened my spoiler (Cayenne S) in an attempt to increase the range of the key remote's reception. See the picture below. Does the hanging piece of wire look like the wire of the antenna? TIA.
  14. See this thread on 2005 face lift: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=1809 The 2005 also have certain comfort features as standard. I am not leaseing and I am simply hoping that the Cayenne S will hold its value. In addition, of all the times I was at my local dealer, they almost have no stock and all the new vehicle that came in with plastics cover, etc. have been pre-sold. So I reckon that the dealer is not prepared to keep stock so in a sense the dealer is keeping the supply low and so I am keeping my fingers crossed.
  15. Well, take a look at this web site: Autobild's page on the 2005 Cayenne It could be rumored but not sure where Autobild get their information from.
  16. Not sure if it is true as based on my knowledge of plastics, Porsche most likely have just one set of tooling of the bumpers - without the Park Assist holes. When an order requires Park Assist, they would most likely drill the un-painted bumpers on a fixture. Therefore, if my theory is correct, it is possible to retro-fit. Assuming also that it is possible to open up holes for the LED indicators on the front dash and the inside rear of the roof. That is, a dealer would need to drill the respective holes on the bumpers, open up holes for the on/off switch, LED indicators front and back, do the wiring, etc. If a Cayenne with the Park Assist were ever to have bumper damage in any accident, the dealer would have to know how to fix the damage presumably? And the LED indicators inside too? :help:
  17. Got this picture from Autobild.de. Rumors or facts? Any performance changes / improvements? Please help me! :help: :help: :help: I am in the market for a Cayenne S.
  18. Can a Cayenne S be retro-fitted with original Porsche Park Assist?
  19. Ahhh, I am new here. Why? Saw what was going on the X5 boards and also test drove the Cayenne S. Just to show you what I found ... and that I almost bought an X5, here is a list of stuff I found as to what others are saying on the X5: --------------------------------------------- Transmission/throttle delay http://bimmer.roadfly.org/bmw/forums/e53/4909897-1.html (2001 4.4i) http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/...ad.php?t=204656 (2004 3.0i) http://bimmer.roadfly.org/bmw/forums/e53/4818401-1.html (2001 3.0i May/2000 production) <- throttle delay problem!
