  1. I just picked my 98 Boxster Tip from the paint shop. I was getting parking lot rash taken care of. I had to wait a couple of minutes as the were just washing the dust off of it. Looks Good. On the way home it would lose power for awhile, then regain it . When it would lose power it seemed like it was not getting enough gas or the throttle was not opening. I would step on the gas and it would put-put along. A couple of miles later it had most of it's get up and go back and then lose it and so forth. There is no CEL and I changed filters and the MAF a few Kmiles ago. Could water have gotten in something? Anyone with any ideas? 84 and sunny tomorrow, Thanks for your consideration. Ed
  2. Are the H&R springs a direct replacement for stock or are there other parts needed to insure a proper wheel alignment. Thanks in advance. Ed
  3. I made a decesion and put on Kumho SPT tires on my 98 Boxster with 17" wheels. It came with P Zero's on it originally. I have only put on a couple of hundred miles but it seems that the sidewalls are a bit looser and the road noise is way down. I Can actually hear my car when I am cruising. When they get a couple of hundred more miles and set in I will see how the truley handle.
  4. I am in need of my first set of replacement tires on a 98 Boxster. After reading app. 4000 posts on tires I can honestly say that at best I am confused. My driving style is semi- aggressive and I spend more time on back roads than elswhere. I plan on no track time in the near future. I would be pleased if someone could tell me about their experiences with Kumho tires and especially the Ecsta SPT. Thanks in advance for your time and consideration. Ed
  5. The vin is WPOCA298XWU624954. Thanks, Ed
  6. After having spent 35+ years as an MG owner I thought that it was time to get a Boxster. After I researched all the potential problems and what to look for in a car I purchased a 98 with app. 38K. After reading the forums I now know that there was a problem with the engines which didn't seem to come up before. Is there anything that I should look for or extra maintenance which should be done to protect the engine? Thanks for you time and consideration. Ed
  7. I made the mistake of trying to use a non Porsche vent cup holder and popped out a few air diffusers in the process. As it is the drivers side vent which is effected I have to remove the light switch and another electrical object(?). Can anyone give me info on the removal of the vent so that I could put the vent back together? Thanks in advance. Ed 1998 Boxster
