    Cool photos. It looks like you might have been able to get that valve spring replaced with the engine in the car. Access is tight, but there are tools available that can compress it with it still installed?     Cheapo HID kits can be a problem because they are noisy and put a lot of interference into the car. I found this out when I installed a kit into my wife's Boxster. The solution is an RF filter (could also be a resistor, or more commonly a capacitor). Different kits and different cars may act differently. The good news is that these kits are cheap and easy to install, and mine worked great on my wife's Boxster.     I just published an article on replacing the coils, you might find it useful: http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Boxster_Tech/07-ENGINE-Plugs_-_Coils/07-ENGINE-Plugs_-_Coils.htm Indeed, your problem could be old or bad fuel - having the car sit for a long time is typically not a problem, unless the fuel is bad. You might want to add some fuel stabilizer. -Wayne

    I went through this with our project Boxster - very frustrating. After installing and removing the fuel sender many times, I finally got some fishing wire, and threaded it down the fuel intake hole and tied it to the sender. Then I had someone pull it up and down while I was watching the gauge. It turned out the sender *was* indeed catching on the hoses, even after I had zipped them out of the way.
