  1. Thanks for the advice. The folks at bilstein told me I could go up or down 25% on the spring rates and the shocks would work OK. The point is, what is OK. Would they perform better if they were revalved. Don't know. I would only have to have the fronts done since I would just change the front springs. I'm just looking for a street setup, so the rears at 385 are stiff enough. I've got 800lb springs on the rear and 700 on the front now. It's killing me. Let's compare notes when we complete the job. Look forward to hearing from you again. Well, I ended up putting on a GT2 coilover setup. Everything worked really well except, since the tt is awd, I needed to get aftermarket droplinks for the front. Seems like only TRG in Calf sells them. I am very happy with the setup. Oh, btw I added a rear gt3 swaybar to give me the adjustment I need to fine tune the handling. I couldn't be happier.
  2. I purchased a set of 997 TT wheels to mount on my 996TT. As soon as I removed a wheel from my '03 turbo (hollow spoke) and went to mount a 997TT wheel, I realized how much heavier they were. When I put one of them on a scale, it was at least 8lbs heavier. I forget exactly, it may have been 10lbs. I then sold them and went to a light aftermarket wheel. If performance is not a priority, they can be considered. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

  4. Thanks Loren. I think what you are saying is that they will physically bolt up but I would have to change the front springs to keep the balance or change one swaybar. If the springs in the front are too light, the best solution would seem to be simply change the front springs. Thanks so much for very good advice.
  5. Quick question. Will 2004 GT3 suspension directly fit on 2003 996tt coupe? Thanks in advance for your help.
  6. Thanks, I thought the F to R difference should be 100lbs in general. Do you experience oversteer in your setup? Maybe this is how you like your car setup-to oversteer I mean. Do you know what the stock spring rate is? Do you know what the H & R spring rates were? Did you think they felt a lot different than your current setup? Thanks for taking the time to help me out.
  7. What are the stock 996tt spring rates F & R? What is the highest reasonable rates for street driving? Do the best selling kits come with reasonable rates? I put a set of coilovers on my 996tt with Eibach 800lb rears and 700lb fronts. This is not the answer. Bilstein folks told me I can go 25% lower spring rate and still have the shocks work OK. My feeling now is that 600 and 500 may not be the answer and I don't want to spend the money to try them if it doesn't make sense. Can someone advise?
