  1. So what would one expect to pay to have the accumulator/slave replaced? The issue I have is that when I go out to the car after setting a while, the clutch just drops to the floor and needs to be "pumped" a bit to get the clutch back to useable. Thanks, Doug
  2. Hello folks, my '01 has been hiding in its garage for a few months now and just whining to go out and play. I heard the calling and decided for a nice weekend drive. Jumped in the car and stepped on the clutch that promptly dropped to the floor. WHAT!!!!!!!!!...After a bunch of choice words and some pumping of the pedal, the clutch seemed to come back to life and off we went. The clutch still seems a bit out of adjustment as it doesn't really start to engage until it is depressed an inch or two, but all in all the car runs great after that. There are no leaks on the floor and the issue has occurred twice now.... Any suggestions?
  3. Does anyone have any pics of the removal of the front bumper?
  4. I have an '01 996TT and if the car has been sitting for a few days it will make a funny noise when starting. I guess the best way to explain it is that for about the first .5 - 1 second the car sounds like a loud fart. Sound quickly goes away, and will be gone completely for starting and stopping throughout the day...Leave the car sitting for awhile and same sound...What am I missing? I've heard of bad DV's causing noises like this...any thoughts? Car is bone stock right now Thanks, Wiz
  5. Looks great!!! Who is the manufacturer and if you don't mind, what costs were involved?
  6. Well folks...I'm not trying to start a huge debate or a flame war...but I thought I would inquire as to what your opinions are. I have an '01 996TT that is silver in color. I've always loved black cars and rather then selling my 'baby' and trying(and waiting around) to find a black one, I have contemplated repainting mine black. My thought was that it would be the perfect time to complete the body mods that I wanted (side skirts, and GT2 front end). So what does everyone think....am I committing a cardinal sin or not?
  7. I have been contemplating changing the frontend spoiler of my 996TT to more of the GT or Aero look. Yes, I have the wonderful bumperettes on my spoiler and would like to get rid of them. I looked at a site http://www.mashaw.com and found the front end I was searching for and the price sounded good. "Here is our new 996 Turbo GT-2 front bumper for 996 Turbo and 2002 + 996. Includes carbon front lip and grille screens Only $1475.00" I just received a quote from a local Pcar dealership of $4400 just for the spoiler, plus a possible $4000 for paint/install. Ok, now I realize that the quote IS coming from a dealership...but what am I missing here? Does anyone have any experience with the Mashaw product line? Or for that matter, can anyone make some recommendations? Thanks, Wiz
  8. Hello to all the Arizona members...Hopefully there are a few of you...Can anyone recommend a reputable Car Stereo shop in the Mesa or Metro area? Thanks, Wiz
  9. Well I just got mine done. The door speakers are Focal 165V3, 6.5 inch mid bass and the dash is 4" midrange with a 1 3/4" tweeters. Behind the seat is a set of 6" Scanspeak woofers in a custom box. I've also installed the Eclipse AVN 6600 Navi with DVD and Sirus radio. The unit sounds great. Had to move the AC control down to allow the Navi. I've also installed the Parot speaker phone. I works well as long as the car is not moving. Engine is too loud, don't waste your money on that. I'm using a Alpine PDX 4.150 amp to drive the speakers. The amp is setup as a 3 chanel using the 3rd chanel bridged to run the sub. I also installed a Ipod controler with the AVN 6600. The system works well and sounds really good. I have the cupholders above the head unit...From what I understand, you can remove the cupholders and then be capable of adding a double-din head unit. Question is...where do I find a fit-kit to surround/mount the new unit? I'm looking at the AVIC-Z2 by Pioneer
  10. I have a 2001 996T and I'm interested too...C'mon folks...somebody out there has to have updated there stereo system
