  1. Hey All, Was looking at getting some white dials for my MY00 Boxster but i love the idea of getting the Carrera cluster installed. From reading the other posts would a standard 2000/2001 C2 cluster do the job? If so would the C2S have the white gauges and be compatible with my vehicle? Again, from what i have read in this post as long as its C2 of the "old" type i should be ok. Would anyone have the part number i would need? Thanks for all the help, great post. Martin
  2. Appreicate everyone's advice. I finally received part of my order the day i filled a complaint with Paypal, back in mid-march. Unfortunately i have yet to receive the remainder of the order. He is now saying that the order was completed, i have had a load of crappy emails accusing me of ripping him off and messing with the system. I am actually shocked.... I almost feel like closing the case just to stop dealing with him and getting these emails. I am not sure about you all but i buy most of my P-Car stuff online and every other vendor, without exception, has been excellent - except for this one. Lesson learned, fingers burned. Martin
  3. Thanks Rick! Bit new to the whole paypal thing - appreciate the tip. Thanks everyone. Martin
  4. Hey, Just to tip my hat in. I have a Stebro sports exhaust. Its smaller and lighter than stock but definitely a bit "boomy" between 2k-3k rpm. It is a well made product and the customer support from Stebro (so far) has been flawless IMO. It is slightly to loud for my ears and as i drive it every day right in the middle of the 2-3 deafening zone i am considering taking it off. The reason i haven't is that it sounds sooooo good when you get above 3k. Hope that helps a bit
  5. Hi Cassie, Thanks for the heads up, ill check them out. I haven't written Xenonmods off yet, everyone deserves a chance to fix things.... But i am not hopeful!
  6. Thanks for getting back to me Loren. Wish i had done some more research! Looks like i lost my money as its been way to long. Thanks for response. Martin
  7. Hey All, Just wondering if anyone had any info on the Xenonmods site? I placed an order back in mid February for a couple of items, paid for it with Paypal, Paypal show the payment was sent - but i still haven't received the stuff. I have sent a couple of emails but not heard anything back. The website states that stuff is shipped within 24-48 hours and could take upto 5 business days, but i placed the order on February 14th (happy valentines day to my car!) Are they still in business? Has anyone had any recent experience with them? I am sure there is a logical explanation but i am a little annoyed that i haven't heard back from them if there was a delay in shipping. Thanks Martin
  8. Thanks everyone for all the help - i think mine must have been Gorilla Glued on! Finally got it off by putting it into reverse then sitting in the passenger seat, bracing my feet against the floor and pulling like hell (didn't hit myself in the face either!!) The B&M makes a hell of a difference - very pleased. On with the next mod..... Thanks everyone, hope you all had a good thanksgiving. M
  9. Ok, ill go bash myself in the face! Thanks again
  10. Just pull directly up or twist as well? - really appreciate your help Loren
  11. Hey All, Really hope its not as obvious as i think it will be! Just got my B&M kit in the post and preped myself ready for fitting it. I bought the 9x6 werks DVD's to help me along so i thought i was all ready to go. I go to remove the shift but i don't have a set screw? In the instructions it mentions that some shifts don't have on and to use clamps on the lever collar, but all is perfectly round rubber collar which when i try and twist off doesn't budge. Anyway got any idea's, i think i have the Tequipment leather shift knob. I am sure its gonna be pretty obvious but i don't want to mess it up! Thanks
  12. Hey Chaudanova, Sorry there are two threads running with pretty much the same topic! I ended up replacing the racing version with the sport version, i probably would have suffered but they sent me a used one by accident so i was able to negotiate a swap. The racing one was very loud between 2-3k rpm, however above that i would say it was the best sounding exhaust i have heard - you just had to be above 3k! Like i said, i now have the sport one fitted and i am very happy with it. The quality is pretty good, the sound is still loud but not intrusive and more importantly it looks great! Here are a couple of pics. (I now have my 04/clear rear light clusters and body colored bumperettes!!!) This one shows the race exhaust on the floor and the sport exhaust fitted. I wanted to take a before and after to show how little space the racing one took up but i forgot, this is the underside with the sports exhaust fitted. If you want/need any more info send me a PM. Happy thanksgiving!!! Gristy
  13. The sticky tape stuff is a pain to get off if its been on there a while - but it will come off. I used the hairdryer/dental floss method then used some of that gunk/goo cleaner to get the rest of the residue off. After that washed the car, small bit of t-cut or something similar to get the fine bits off, waxed and then done!
  14. Not sure about you guys but when this happens to me its usually the center console lid not clicked shut! If it is a case of a dog in the car you can turn off the motion detection by press the lock key twice when you lock it.
  15. Well its fitted - i have to agree with Caffinetrip completely! Mine is very loud between 2-3k but both before and after it sounds awesome! That being said with the speed limits being around 60Mph here in Virginia you spend a fair amount of time in that rev range. Bit stressed out about my trip so i am saving final judgement until i get back. However, in case anyone is interested, my thoughts so far with the whole Stebro experience are: Pro's Looks very well made Fantastic sound -2k and plus 3k rpm Fits very well Dan at Stebro has been very helpful and patient Cons VERY loud between 2-3rpm The shipping mess up (not Stebro's fault) Packaging could have been better (not boxed but well covered and wrapped in bubble wrap) Currys Auto (very helpful), who fitted said that it appeared to have been fitted to another car (clamp marks on the pipes) - Since my original post i have contacted Stebro and they are hopefully going to exchange it once i get back to the US. Will try and post sound clips on my return, if anyone is interested! Martin
  16. I went for the race version, i will try and take some pictures tonight. I am off on travel for a couple of weeks so i think the install is going to have to wait until i get back... :censored: I was going to do it myself but i spoke with a local garage that apparently specializes in European cars, they reckon around $75 less dyno'ing..... Could be interesting!
  17. Well the Stebro arrived today after a bit of faffing around, not on Stebro's part - they were very helpful. The shipping company had some "issues" yesterday (when they were supposed to deliver it) so i asked them to deliver to my office. Nothing. Got home tonight and there it was!!!! First impressions? It looks really well made and much lighter/smaller than stock - quite similar to the Borla exhaust i think. I am going to attempt to swap it out myself either this weekend or the next, once i can persuade someone to give me a hand! If not its off to a garage! Ill try and take some pictures tomorrow to post. Thanks Martin :renntech:
  18. Sort of, from what i understand it puts a thin film on your screen that fills in all the scratches making it look nice and new (ish). I wish i had taken a before and after cos i would have bought stocks in the the stuff. Back to the original point, it is a cleaner - yes.
  19. Spent days looking through the forums before purchasing Plexus. Its for winners. My rear screen was a mess, the improvement after 2 applications was really noticable. I did apply one layer of Rainex after cleaning with no bad effects - take that as you will!
  20. Not sure if i am stoopid or not but i took the plunge and ordered a Stebro exhaust...... Will keep you all posted on the whole process, if you are interested! So far the sales guy, Dan, has been both helpful and patient with my myriad of questions, this will truly be tested when he realizes that i can barely change a bulb and have no idea how to put the top into service mode (not that i need to before all the replies, just an example of my technical skill). Standby Gristy :jump:
  21. Good luck, i can't wait to read about your work! I wish i had the technical know-how and the guts to do what you do! Keep us posted! :renntech:
  22. Just checked out that YouTube clip - awesome, probably a tad loud for an everyday drive!! Just reading your own cars spec, how do you find the Maxspeed that you have? To be brutally honest with you all i am thinking of taking the plunge with the Stebro muffler once i get back to the US from my trip. I will give it some hard thought on the plane, if i do ill post pics and review as soon as its done. Standby, firing!!
  23. No apology for "hijacking" necessary. I am really interested in everyones experience with Boxter tuning. I admit that this particular thread was purely sound related. More than anything i didn't want to bolt something on that messed up the cars every day running!! I am new to Porsche totally and value everyones input! :renntech: P.s the spoiler is awesome, where did you get it!
  24. Wow, that sucks - i had seen a few posts on here about people leaving the muffler stock and putting on the bypass pipes to good effect - thanks for the heads up phillip! Might take the plunge when i get back to the US - will let you all know how i get on. Thanks for all the help and advice.
  25. Yeah its a tough one!! I am anti the desnorkel for a couple of reasons, the main one being it would be just my luck that someone will throw a cigarette out their window - straight into my pride and joy's newly desnorkeled air intake and mess things up nicely. I quite like the look and sound of the Stebro but i am apprehensive as i haven't heard any reviews from anyone with the exhaust actually fitted. I don't want to waste my money but i want the Boxster to sound a bit more meaty!
