  1. Hey Loren, no it didn't.

However in my panic what i should have done was keep reading the service manual section. I found the high amp fuse part and didn't keep reading as there are also 2 more fuses in the regular box. I got a bit thrown by the fact i was able to move the windows up but not down - good ol' Porsche for giving you a way to secure your car!

    Lesson learned- RTFM - completely!

    Thank you

  2. Hey All,

Hoping someone can help me. I just completed what i hoped was the simple job of replacing the passenger side vanity mirror - and it was thanks to the instructions that Loren provided. However I now have electronic demons. The lights in both vanity mirrors don't work, not that big a deal - however neither do my windows roll up and down. As they were down at the time i did managed to get them to close using the key in the door but the switches themselves don't work at all. I am also unable to lower them again (but at least the car is secure now). Additional things now not working are the door lock button on the dash, which i never use but hopefully will provide a clue. All other stuff appears to be working. I can't be the window fuse as they wouldn't have closed with the key (?). The dealership said that when i may need to have everything "reprogrammed/reset" which sounds $$$.

Any ideas?? Any help most appreciated.

  3. Hello all, driving the other day with the long haired general in the car and she managed to break the cover piece off the vanity mirror on the passenger side. I ordered and received the replacement but i have no idea how to fit it! Is it glued in? Has anyone got any tips/links on how to replace it??

Any help would be much appreciated!

  4. Hey All,

I am hoping someone has an answer for this or that the fix isn't mortgage worthy! I started driving to work today, lovely weather so i had the top down. I noticed a really loud rattle from the rear underside of the car. My first thought was that it was probably the head guard for the exhaust and that i would take a look later. As i slowed down it got really bad and then i noticed that my ABS light and my battery light were flashing like crazy. The weird thing was that the disco lights on my dash seemed to be tied to the rattle??? Slowing down and braking, lots of rattle and lights, accelarating - slight rattle and not so many lights.

Does anyone know what this could be? Really appreciate anyones help.

  5. Hey all,

I have just installed a new rear center console, which i am very :D with! However i can't work out how to get the lid off the lockable oddments box right at the back. The instructions say something about a hinge replacement kit for '99 and '00 models (mine is a MY00), which is all well and good but that doesn't have anything to do with the lid, does it??? Any help would be most appreciated!

    Thanks

  6. Hi Gus,

I don't have any maintenance/handyman skills either but giving it a go myself. I bought the 9x6 Werks DVD's, well worth it as they run you through the whole thing (along with some other common mods) and its a bit easier to see where you might have problems as its video and not the B&M instructions. I doubled the time that B&M said it would take doubling back and forth from my laptop and the instructions - I was extra careful!!

Anyway i did it and since then have attacked a couple more projects (OBC hack was fun!). Take your time and you should be ok.

  7. Not sure if anyone is interested in a update on this but humor me......

Well its still ongoing, paypal finally said today that i had to file with the local law enforcement and fax it over to them. As much as i want to its really not worth the hassle for the bit of the order thats missing. The way gas prices are it would probably cost me more to drive there and file that to let this guy get away with it.

Don't buy from this guy - its more hassle than its worth. :soapbox:

    Thanks

  8. Hey All,

Was looking at getting some white dials for my MY00 Boxster but i love the idea of getting the Carrera cluster installed. From reading the other posts would a standard 2000/2001 C2 cluster do the job? If so would the C2S have the white gauges and be compatible with my vehicle? Again, from what i have read in this post as long as its C2 of the "old" type i should be ok.

Would anyone have the part number i would need?

Thanks for all the help, great post.

    Martin
